摘要: In an ultrasonic measuring method for measuring the thickness of a coating material applied by coating to one surface or both surfaces of a substrate made of a metal so as to provide a coated product, a pair of first ultrasonic sensor and second ultrasonic sensor are provided such that the first ultrasonic sensor is placed on one side of the coated product, as viewed in its thickness direction, via an air layer, while the second ultrasonic sensor is placed on the other side of the coated product, via an air layer, and the thickness of the coating material is measured by transmitting ultrasonic waves between the first and the second ultrasonic sensors. A flat-type transmitting sensor that permits propagation of unfocused ultrasonic waves is used as the first ultrasonic sensor, and a flat-type receiving sensor that permits propagation of unfocused ultrasonic waves is used as the second ultrasonic sensor.

摘要: An apparatus 1 for determining a kind of a steel material detects a spark pixel from a color picked-up image 2 of a spark 19 produced when a steel material 18 is ground, and detects a pixel, in which the density of any one color component for judgment selected from among RGB color components is low, as a low-density pixel from the spark pixels. The apparatus 1 determines that the steel material is a steel material consisting of the high-strength steel if the ratio of the total number of low-density pixels to the total number of spark pixels is not lower than a threshold value for judgment, and determines that the steel material is a steel material consisting of the ordinary steel if the ratio is lower than the threshold value for judgment.

摘要: There is provided a method for straightening a steel product, comprising using hard alloy straightening rolls each made of a tungsten carbide-cobalt (WC—Co) based sintered material (hard metal), wherein the hardness of each roll is HRA85 to 87. According to this straightening method, when bends of steel product are straightened, roll wear is suppressed, defective roll mark(s) caused by the roll wear is prevented from being formed on the surface of the product being straightened, and time for changeover and/or setup of rolls is shortened to enhance the operation rate of the straightening machine, whereby the efficiency of a finishing process and, in turn, the productivity can be improved. Therefore, this method is especially effective in the case where a product to be straightened is a high-strength product such as a steel pipe for a motor vehicle air bag.

摘要: In an optical transmission method and device of a point-multipoint type, whether or not identification information of an optical network unit designated is received within a fixed phase tolerance for a transmission enabling phase designated to optical network units on multipoint sides is determined. When it is determined that no identification information of the optical network unit designated is received and identification information of any optical network unit is received up to a transmission enabling phase subsequently designated, a transmission stop command is transmitted to the optical network unit whose identification information is received. Also, when abnormality is detected in transmitted data from the optical network unit designated or any optical network unit within a transmission enabling duration designated for the transmission enabling phase designated to the optical network units, a transmission enabling duration reducing command is transmitted to the optical network unit or all of the optical network units respectively. Thereafter, when the identification information of the optical network unit designated is received within a fixed phase tolerance for the transmission enabling phase designated to the optical network units and identification information of another optical network unit is also received up to a transmission enabling phase subsequently designated, a transmission stop command to the other optical network unit and a command for restoring the transmission enabling duration for the optical network unit and all of the optical network units are transmitted.

摘要: An optical access system that sends packets in a given time slot more efficiently without wasting bandwidth. The uplink channel from slave devices to a master device is divided into time slots. The sending slave device reads out upstream packets from its send packet buffer when an assigned time slot comes. If the maximum frame size is reached in the middle of a packet, the slave device suspends further reading until a next assigned time slot comes. The packets are sent to the master device, each being set off by a start and end delimiters. Detection of a start delimiter causes the master device to begin writing each received data word into a receive packet buffer, which is terminated by the end delimiter of that packet. Received packets are retrieved from their memory locations specified by a read address that includes the sender's slave device number.
