摘要： To enhance the noise reducing effect of a sound insulation structure which includes a cover member for covering a power unit from the outside so as to reduce the radiant sound generated from the power unit, and a resonator. A sound insulation structure includes an armor cover for covering a left case half and a left cover constituting a side part cover of the power unit from the left side so as to reduce the radiant sound generated from the side part cover and enhance an appearance quality of the power unit, and the resonator capable of resonating at a specified frequency of the radiant sound. The resonator is disposed in a space formed between the side part cover and the armor cover in the state of being out of contact with the armor cover, and is attached to the side part cover in contact with the latter.

摘要： An exhaust control apparatus for a motorcycle includes an exhaust collection pipe, which collects and combines exhaust gas from a plurality of exhaust pipes, and an exhaust valve. The exhaust valve is operatively attached to the collection pipe and controls flow of exhaust gas within the collection pipe. A pivot shaft of the exhaust valve is situated at an angle and is displaced from the centers of the exhaust pipes, such that the shaft is not aligned with the centers of the exhaust pipes. This arrangement of the pivot shaft provides a smooth, non-turbulent flow of exhaust gas, and reduces impedance to the flow of exhaust gas. The exhaust control apparatus may be mounted to reside within a recess formed in a motorcycle body frame, to reduce vehicle width.

摘要： A motorcycle has an engine mounting structure in which a rear wheel supporting swing arm is vertically swung together with a rear wheel, and in which both sides in the vehicle body width direction of a vehicle body side bracket provided in a vehicle body frame are clamped between a left-right pair of engine-side brackets provided on an engine and the engine is mounted to the vehicle body side bracket through elastic members. The vehicle body frame includes a left-right pair of auxiliary brackets disposed on both sides of the vehicle body side bracket, with an interval therebetween. The left and right engine-side brackets are clamped by the auxiliary brackets. An engine supporting bolt is made to penetrate through the vehicle body side bracket, the left and right engine-side brackets and the left and right auxiliary brackets, whereby the brackets are connected to each other.

摘要： An engine output control system includes an engine ECU having a fundamental ignition timing map, a fundamental fuel injection quantity map, a target throttle angle determination unit for determining a target throttle angle of an exhaust control valve, an exhaust control valve diagnosis unit for diagnosing operation of the exhaust control valve, an ignition timing map to be used during an abnormality for determining fundamental ignition timing when the exhaust control valve operates abnormally, and an abnormal fuel injection thinning-out table for determining a reduced rate of fuel injection when the exhaust control valve has been diagnosed as abnormal. The exhaust control valve driving unit supplies a driving current to an actuator in such a manner that the target throttle angle notified by the engine ECU coincides with actual valve throttle angle. The system is capable of obtaining sufficient traveling performance even when an exhaust control valve has is operating abnormally.
