A toner carrier which carries a toner in the form of thin film on its surface, comes close to or comes into contact with the image-forming body so as to supply the toner to the surface of the image-forming body, thereby forming a visible image on the surface of the image-forming body, said toner carrier being characterized in that its conductive elastic layer has a coating layer thereon which is made of a material containing a resin with a glass transition point lower than 10° C. and has a dynamic elastic modulus (E′) of 107-109.8 dyn/cm2 and a loss tangent (tan &dgr;) smaller than 0.7. A toner carrier in which the electrically conductive elastic layer is formed from an elastic material having a tear strength greater than 10 kg/cm measured according to JIS K6252.

A toner carrier which gives good images (free of fogging in white area, harshness in halftone area, and density variation in black area) even after continuous long runs. The toner carrier includes an electrically conductive elastic layer and a coating layer formed thereon which contains a siloxane-crosslinked acrylic resin obtained from an acrylic copolymer with an alkoxysilyl group by crosslinking and curing.

An electrically conductive member comprising an electrically conductive elastic layer and a coating layer formed thereon, characterized in that said coating layer is formed from a polyurea resin as a cured product resulting from reaction between a polyamine compound and a polyisocyanate compound. It has a coating layer which readily conforms to elastic deformation of rubber or the likes, has long durability, and has good properties in protection of the photosensitive body from staining and prevention of toner sticking, control of the toner charging and a low coefficient of friction.

Disclosed is a toner support for preventing occurrence of an image failure such as stain, uneven image density, and fogging on a white image as much as possible, thereby certainly forming a high quality image enough to keep up with formation of a color image. The toner support is characterized in that the maximum value of a surface potential of the toner support, which is measured after an elapse of 0.35 sec since the surface of the toner support is charged by generating a corona discharge by means of applying a voltage of 8 kV to a corona discharger disposed apart from the surface of the toner support by 1 mm, is in a range of 90 V or less, and that the absolute value of a surface potential decay rate of the toner support, which is measured at an elapse of 0.2 sec after charges are imparted on the surface of the toner support by generating a corona discharge by means of applying a voltage of 8 kV to a corona discharger disposed apart from the surface of the toner support by 1 mm, is in a range of 0.1 V/sec or more.

A developing roller supports a one-component developer on a surface thereof in the form of a thin layer, and is brought in contact with or in proximity to an image forming body in such a state, to supply the developer on a surface of the image forming body, thereby allowing a visible image to be formed on the surface of the image forming body. The developing roller includes: an elastic layer having an ionically conductivity whose surface is imparted with a resin component having a high resistivity. Thus, if R1 is a resistance of the roller in a stationary state and R2 is a resistance of the roller in a rotational state, a relationship of R1>R2 is established. With this developing roller, it is possible to obtain a high quality image and a high gradient.

A developing roller comprising a conductive layer formed around a shaft carries a non-magnetic one-component developer on its outer surface to form a thin film of the developer and contacts a photoconductor drum having an electrostatic latent image borne on its surface whereby the latent image is developed to form a toner image. In one embodiment, the surface of the conductive layer has a DIN 4776 core roughness depth Rk of 0.5-3.5 .mu.m in a circumferential direction of the roller, and the ratio of circumferential Rk to axial Rk is greater than 1.0. In another embodiment, the surface of the conductive layer is provided with microscopic ridges and recesses which are alternately disposed in a rotational direction to define wavy streaks having a longitudinal direction substantially aligned with an axial direction of the roller.

The present invention provides a resin film free from acetic acid generated by hydrolysis with time owing to change of environment and having high transparency. The resin film comprising ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, which has an extracted acetic acid amount of not more than 200 ppm, the extracted acetic acid amount being an acetic acid amount obtained by allowing the resin film to stand for 100 hours under the conditions of temperature of 85° C. and relative humidity of 85% and thereafter heating water containing the resin film under boiling and reflux to extract acetic acid from the resin film.

By using a conductive adhesive prepared by dispersing conductive particles such as a nickel filler in a thermally or optically curable adhesive comprising a base resin having heat resistance and flexibility after curing, such as EVA, PVB, acrylic resin or unsaturated polyester, as an adhesive for making the shielding conductive layer of a shielded flat cable conductive with the ground line of a cable body in a non-insulated portion and bonding the cable body to the shielding member, the heat resistance and connection reliability in a high temperature and high humidity condition of the shielded flat cable are ensured. To further improve adhesion, a phosphoric acid methacrylate and melamine-based resin are blended with the above base resin.
