摘要： Provided is a mobile electronic device capable of reflecting a user's intention. While an initial screen for waiting for an incoming-call is being displayed on an LCD display unit, a control unit performs control so that a first type character display area and a second type character display area are displayed on the LCD display unit in place of the initial screen, wherein the first type character display area is an area for, when any of first keys is depressed, displaying a first type character (for example, a number such as “1”, “2”, “3”) assigned to the depressed first key and the second type character display area is an area for displaying a second type character (for example, “a”, “i”, “u”, etc. in Japanese Hiragana letter) assigned to the depressed first key.

The display unit displays a first screen and a second screen in such a manner that the first screen and the second screen do not overlap each other. The first screen displays an overview of the mail, and the second screen edits an image or a text as an element to be added to the mail. The detecting unit detects an operation. When an operation made on the second screen is detected by the detecting unit, the control unit updates the overview of the mail that is displayed on the first screen in accordance with the operation.

Then the detecting unit detects a change in the form of the electronic device from the first form to the second form, the control unit activates a function corresponding to a selected object among objects displayed on the first display unit, and displays a screen corresponding to the function on the second display unit.

摘要： A communication terminal provides at least two modes of operation. When a first mode (child mode) is selected, predetermined functions such as search queries are restricted. In a second (normal, adult mode), a search query is transmitted from the communication terminal to an external search server that returns results of the search query to the communication terminal for display. In the first mode, the search query is not transmitted to the external search server. Instead, information associated with the search query is extracted from dictionary data that is stored in a memory within the communication terminal. The extracted data is displayed on the communication terminal as the search result. The dictionary data may include general terms and information that is biographic, geographic, pictorial, encyclopedic, etc., that is installed as an initial setting or is later downloaded with administrative permission.
