摘要： A laser source unit in which a laser diode is located at a focal point of a Fresnel lens using refraction and diffraction. The laser diode emits a laser beam in accordance with a control signal generated by a driving circuit. The laser diode is driven such that defocus on an image surface caused by a rise in the temperature of the laser diode can be kept in a tolerable degree.

摘要： An image recording apparatus wherein a laser diode which is disposed on a focal point of a micro Fresnel lens emits a laser beam and the laser beam is collimated by the Fresnel lens and scanned on a photosensitive drum by a polygonal mirror and an f.theta. optical system. A change in temperature of the laser diode does not result in such serious defocus as to cause practical problems.

摘要： There is disclosed a facsimile apparatus comprising a transmitter for transmitting an image signal to another facsimile apparatus through a communication line and a receiver for receiving an image signal from another facsimile apparatus through the communication line. In the facsimile apparatus, a detector detects completion of the transmission operation by the transmitter and completion of the reception operation by the receiver, and a counter counts a preset time, which is started when the detector detects the completion of the transmission operation by the transmitter or completion of the reception operation by the receiver. Further, a controller controls the transmitter and the receiver so as to prohibit the receiver from performing the reception operation while the counter counts the predetermined time, and to permit the transmitter to perform the transmission operation.

摘要： An image reading apparatus includes an original placing platen formed of a rectangular transparent member on which an original is placed; a photoelectrical conversion device for reading an image of the original-placed on the transparent member; an original pressing plate having an original pressing surface for pressing the overall surface of the original placing platen, the original pressing surface having a first area formed at a portion opposing a first side of the transparent member and a second area formed at a portion opposing a second side crossing at a right angle to the first side of the transparent member. The first and second areas are determined as a predetermined color by the photoelectrical conversion device. The apparatus further includes a size detecting device for reading by the photoelectrical conversion device the original sandwiched between the first and second areas of the original pressing surface and the transparent member so as to detect the size of the original based on the result of reading.
