    摘要: The methods, devices, and systems discussed herein describe a wireless communication device transmitting a discovery channel message, at least a portion of which, is embedded in the control channel of a groupcast transmission. In some examples, the discovery channel message is transmitted using a pre-defined, fixed transmit power and modulation and coding scheme (MCS), which facilitates the receiving wireless communication devices' ability to decode the control channel, including the embedded discovery channel message. If a receiving wireless communication device can decode the discovery channel message above a configured threshold (e.g., a received power threshold and/or a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)) but is unable to decode the data portion of the groupcast transmission, which was intended for the receiving wireless communication device, then the receiving wireless communication device will transmit a negative-acknowledgement (NACK) to the wireless communication device that transmitted the groupcast transmission.

The eNB instructs the first UE device to transmit a reference signal that is received by the second UE device. The second UE device reports D2D channel characteristic information indicative of the received reference signal. Based on the D2D channel characteristic information, the base station determines the D2D transmission parameters and provides the parameters to the first UE device.

    摘要: A base station transmits a rate recommendation to a first user equipment (UE) device. The rate recommendation is to be used for a Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) call between the first UE device and a second UE device. In some instances, the first UE device and the second UE device negotiate the rate to be used for the VoLTE call, based on the rate recommended by the base station. If the negotiated rate is supported by the base station and/or matches a supported codec rate, the UE devices implement the rate and provide rate feedback to the base station.
