Abstract: An apparatus for receiving a broadcast signal, the apparatus including a tuner configured to receive transport packets for signaling data and transport packets for delivery objects, a delivery object is a part of a file for video content of a broadcast service: a signaling parser configured to parse the signaling data including session information including an extended file delivery table providing information about delivery of the file, in which the extended file delivery table including file template information: and a data processor configured to generate location information for the file by substituting an identifier in the file template information with a Transport Object Identifier (TOI) in a header of a transport packet for the delivery object. Further, a payload of the transport packet for the delivery object carries a contiguous portion of the delivery object starting from a beginning of a first byte value through a byte value related to a sum of the first byte value and second byte value, the first byte value is a value of start offset information, that is followed by the payload, in the transport packet, and the second byte value is a length of the payload computed by subtracting a size of the header and a size of the start offset information from a total length of the transport packet.

Abstract: A digital receiver for synchronizing multiple components delivered on a broadband network and a broadcast network, the digital receiver including a broadband network interface configured to receive broadband data including at least one audio component for a service via the broadband network, wherein the at least one audio component relates to a Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) segment, wherein the broadband network comprises an internet network; a broadcast network interface configured to receive a broadcast signal including a video component for the service, first timing information, and second timing information via the broadcast network, wherein the broadcast signal further includes a MPD (Media Presentation Description) having a DASH representation containing a segment URL for the DASH segment delivered over the broadband network; and a processor configured to calculate an offset based on a receiver wall clock, and process at least one of the at least one audio component or the video component which is time-aligned based on the calculated offset.

Abstract: A method for transmitting a broadcast signal in a digital transmitter includes generating a link layer packet; generating the broadcast signal based on the link layer packet; and transmitting the broadcast signal. In addition, in response to the packet type field represents that the input data relates to a Movie Picture Experts Group-2 (MPEG-2) Transport Stream (TS) packet, a first header included in the link layer packet includes a deleted null packet indicator for representing the number of deleted null TS packets prior to the link layer packet.

Abstract: A method of processing a broadcast signal includes physical layer processing a plurality of packets into a plurality of data pipes to form a signal frame of the broadcast signal. Further, a packet includes an emergency alert message for an emergency alert service so that a data pipe carries the emergency alert massage, the emergency alert message including a message identifier (ID) for identifying the emergency alert message and a service ID identifying a service related to the emergency alert message. The physical layer processing further includes encoding data in each data pipe; bit interleaving the encoded data in each data pipe; and time interleaving the bit interleaved data in each data pipe according to a first mode or a second mode, the first mode represents that the time interleaving is performed based on convolutional interleaving operation, the second mode represents that the time interleaving is performed based on a combination of block interleaving operation and convolutional interleaving operation; and transmitting the broadcast signal. In addition, the broadcast signal further includes physical layer signaling information, the physical layer signaling information including a signaling information representing that the data pipe carries the emergency alert message and time interleaving signaling information related to the first mode and the second mode.
