摘要: A design is disclosed for a catheter assembly used during interventional and/or diagnostic procedures. The catheter includes a plurality of openings that allow for controlled fluid flow as the fluid exits the lumen of the catheter and can be inserted into the vascular system over a guidewire. As a result, the openings balance the fluid forces and, thereby, stabilize the distal tip to accommodate a wide range of injection parameters. The particular design of the catheter assembly of the present invention also reduces and/or eliminates recoil of the catheter tip during high volume injections, such as those associated with coronary or ventricular angiography.

摘要: A self-cleaning burner system incorporates an automatic clean cycle when the burner is started up. Cycles may be programmed for once-a-day cleaning cycle or for other desired interval. On start-up, the cycle routes a small amount of fuel to the burner for ignition inside the burner to clean the burner surfaces. The system incorporates an igniter for fast, routine, and safe ignition of the fuel. Thus, small amounts of debris that accumulate on a surface burner are automatically ignited when the burner is started, keeping the burner clean and operating at a high state of efficiency at all times. The self-cleaning burner system may be incorporated into a fryer or other heating appliance for reliable, efficient operation.

摘要: Improved features for a filter system for a deep fat fryer are described. The fryer includes a movable filter pan disposed below the cooking tank which is fed by gravity when the tank is drained through a downspout. The downspout is curved and rotatable from a down position when it is in use/storage to an up position when it is not in use and a stabilizing clip is mounted on the downspout to secure a separate polishing tube when it is in the down or horizontal position to allow one handle to lift two pipes at the same time for removal of the filter pan. An inline removable filter is provided in the oil return line, and the return line is slidably supported on the side of the filter pan so that it can rise and fall with the debris in the filter pan.

摘要: A fry cooker uses a flow of cooking oil or other medium during the cooking operation to strain out or screen particles that cause degradation of the cooking oil or medium. There are several configurations of the fryer that achieve this result. One is a fryer with a first coarse strainer and a second fine sieve or screen. The first screen is used to swiftly screen and separate coarse particles. The second is used as a finer filter to separate finer particles. Either screen may also be adapted to hold a packet for chemically treating and preserving the cooking medium. Another configuration may include a fryer basket that has a straining portion for removing particulates from the cooking medium. The basket may have an upper sealing portion and a lower straining portion.

摘要: A catheter for use in introducing fluid into a vessel or other bodily structure. The catheter comprises a stem and a restrictor. The stem has approximate a distal end thereof a porous section that defines microholes distributed thereabout, which are inclined by a predetermined angle in the proximal direction. Affixed to the stem, the restrictor includes a conically-shaped valve with an apex thereof defining an opening and pointing in the proximal direction. The opening generally decreases in size as the conically-shaped valve flattens out distally as the pressure of the fluid within the tip increases. The forces of the fluid flowing out of the opening of the restrictor and out of the microholes of the stem substantially balance thereby substantially eliminating both recoil and whipping of the catheter, thus enabling its position to remain exceptionally stable while the fluid is finely dispersed therefrom in a cloud-like form.

摘要: The tool for enhancing visualization during surgery includes a shaft having a balloon member at a distal end. A fluid conduit through the shaft permits passing and inflation fluid into the balloon to selectively inflate the balloon. The balloon is formed of a material transparent to a wavelength of interest. A waveguide extends within the shaft into the interior of the balloon to visualize anatomical features external to the balloon.

摘要: A method and apparatus for treating a body tissue in situ (e.g., an atrial tissue of a heart to treat atrial fibrillation) include a lesion formation tool is positioned against the heart surface. The apparatus includes a guide member having a tissue-opposing surface for placement against a heart surface. The guide member also has interior surfaces and a longitudinal axis. A guide carriage is sized to be received with the guide member and moveable therein along the longitudinal axis. An optical fiber is positioned within the guide carriage with the carriage retaining the fiber. The carriage receives the fiber with an axis substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis and bends the fiber to a distal tip with an axis of said fiber at said distal tip at least 45 degrees to the longitudinal axis and aligned for discharge of laser energy through the tissue opposing surface.
