Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for systems and methods associated with locking a micromobility transit vehicle to a stationary object. A multimodal transportation system may include a docking station including a securement point, and a micromobility transit vehicle securable to the securement point of the docking station. The micromobility transit vehicle may include a storage basket and a lock cable including a first end coupled to the storage basket and a second end. The second end of the lock cable may be securable to the securement point of the docking station to lock the micromobility transit vehicle to the docking station. The storage basket may include a pin lock. The pin lock may engage a locking pin of the lock cable to lock the micromobility transit vehicle via the lock cable.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus for docking vehicles includes a housing structure comprising two side portions and a top portion connecting the two side portions, the two side portions and the top portion forming a cavity for receiving a portion of a vehicle, an electrically-powered locking assembly, carried by the housing structure, for securing the housing structure to the vehicle in response to the portion of the vehicle being received by the cavity of the housing structure, an electrically-powered communication device, coupled to the housing structure, for enabling data communication over a network, and a solar panel, carried by an external surface of one of the side portions of the housing structure, for independently converting light received by the solar panel into electrical energy.

Abstract: In particular embodiments, a computing system may collect, for each ride of a plurality of rides, first ride data associated with a user riding a personal mobility vehicle during a certain time period. The system may calculate, for each ride, an approximate load on the personal mobility vehicle based on at least the first ride data. The system may calculate a user profile of the user based on the approximate loads. The system may collect, for a subsequent ride, second ride data associated with the user riding a current personal mobility vehicle after the certain time period. The system may calculate, for the subsequent ride, a second approximate load on the current personal mobility vehicle based on at least the second ride data. The system may compare the second approximate load to the user profile and classify the subsequent ride as individual or tandem based on the comparison.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method includes collecting data from at least one component of a micromobility vehicle. The method includes analyzing the data to determine whether a condition of the micromobility vehicle corresponds to an unsafe condition. The method includes determining, based on analysis, that the condition of the micromobility vehicle corresponds to the unsafe condition. The method includes activating an immobilization lock on the micromobility vehicle to immobilize a wheel of the micromobility vehicle responsive to determining that the condition of the micromobility vehicle corresponds to the unsafe condition.
