Abstract: A valve operating device for an engine is provided. The device includes at least two cam elements per one shaft. End face cams are formed in opposing end faces of two adjacent cam elements, and the end face cams respectively have protruding portions being formed offset in phase so that the protruding portions overlap in the axial directions when the two cam elements are close to each other. A control member is provided, the control member is projected to an actuated position at which the control member is projected to engage with the end face cams so as to separate the adjacent cam elements from each other when the cam elements are close to each other, and the control member is retreated to a non-actuated position at which the control member is retreated from the actuated position.

Abstract: In a vehicle drive unit, a motor and an inverter are disposed adjacent in an axial direction of the motor. A smoothing capacitor and each power module are connected by a busbar. Each power module has a flat shape having a wide width, and has a first cooling surface facing the motor. The first cooling surface of each power module is placed on a placement surface orthogonal to the axial direction. The plate-shaped busbar has a second cooling surface facing the motor. The busbar is connected to the smoothing capacitor and each power module, and is formed with a wide width so as to extend along a direction in which each power module is disposed side by side. The second cooling surface is placed on the placement surface. A cooling portion facing the first and second cooling surfaces is provided closer to the motor than the placement surface.

Abstract: Provided is an engine cooling apparatus capable of preventing deterioration in reliability of a cylinder head of an engine during cold engine operation. The engine cooling apparatus comprises an engine cooling water path, a heater core cooling path, and a radiator cooling water path, and further comprises a switching valve for switching among these cooling water paths. The switching valve is operable, when the temperature of an area around an exhaust valve is raised to a value greater than, e.g., 150° C., even in a situation where the temperature of cooling water for cooling the engine is equal to or less than, e.g., 50° C., to switch from the in-engine cooling water path to the heater core cooling water path.

Abstract: A valve operating device for an engine is provided. The device includes a cam element formed with an end face cam in one end thereof, and a control member driven by an actuator to project to an actuated position at which the control member is projected to engage with the end face cam so as to move the cam element in one of the axial directions, and retreat to a non-actuated position at which the control member is retreated from the actuated position.
