    Abstract: A ring oscillator with an overstress solution is shown, which includes a plurality of oscillation units connected in a ring, and two capacitors. The first capacitor has a first terminal and a second terminal that are respectively coupled to a first node and a second node of the ring. The second node is an input terminal of a first-stage oscillation unit. The first node is an output terminal of a later-stage oscillation unit. The first signal at the first node is generated by inverting an input signal coupled to the input terminal of the first-stage oscillation unit an even number of times. The second capacitor is coupled between the second node and the ground terminal.

    Abstract: An impedance circuit includes a poly-resistor and a controller. The poly-resistor has a first terminal and a second terminal. The controller generates a first control voltage and a second control voltage. The second control voltage is different from the first control voltage. The proposed impedance circuit can improve the linearity of the poly-resistor.

    Abstract: A class-D amplifier with low pop-click noise is shown. A loop filter, a control signal generator, a first power driver, and a first feedback circuit are provided within the class-D amplifier to establish a first loop for signal amplification. The class-D amplifier further has a settling circuit and a pre-charging circuit. The settling circuit is configured to be combined with the loop filer and the control signal generator to establish a second loop to settle the loop filter and the control signal generator before the first loop is enabled. The pre-charging circuit is configured to pre-charge a positive output terminal and a negative output terminal of the first power driver.

    Abstract: A portable device and a method for entering a power-saving mode are provided. Audio stream is generated by an audio player, and an audio signal is generated according to the audio stream and then transmitted to an earphone via a cable by a digital-analog converter. At least one electrical characteristic on the cable is sensed to generate at least one sensing signal. The at least one sensing signal is sampled to generate at least one data signal. Whether the earphone is inserted into an ear canal is determined according to the at least one data signal. For determining whether the earphone is inserted into the ear canal, an impedance frequency response related to the earphone is obtained according to the at least one data signal, and whether the earphone is inserted into the ear canal is determined according to a characteristic of peaks of the impedance frequency response.
