    摘要: There is disclosed second stage overload protection for amplifiers in which the connection between the second stage and the third stage incorporates a resistive element which is effectively switched to a high value to limit the output current of the second stage whenever a short or a high load occurs at the output of the device. The transistor in the second stage is simultaneously placed in saturation so that it no longer performs an amplification function such that the current drawn when the second stage is in saturation is considerably less than the current drawn when the second stage is in its active region, thus protecting the second stage from current overloading.

    摘要: Disclosed is a differential amplifier circuit featuring electronic gain control, and this circuit may be constructed in monolithic integrated form. In one embodiment of the invention, first and second pairs of differentially coupled transistors are connected respectively to first and second differentially coupled input transistors, and the input transistors are connectable to a source of differential input signals. Differential output signals are derived at the outputs of transistors in each of the pairs of transistors, and by applying an automatic gain control (AGC) signal at a node which is common to the transistor pairs, electronic gain control is obtained without a differential signal arising therefrom. In another embodiment of the invention, an output differential amplifier stage is directly coupled to transistors in the first and second pairs of transistors so that any common mode signal present there is rejected in said output stage.

    摘要: A monolithic four-quadrant multiplier circuit, the output off which is subject to variations caused by changes in beta ( Beta ) due to changes in temperature, is temperature compensated by providing operating current thereto from a regulating circuit which causes the operating current for the multiplier to vary in accordance with a predetermined alpha ( Alpha ) relationship to cancel out the effect of changes in Beta on the multiplier output. A level shifting circuit is connected to the output of the multiplier and causes the output of the multiplier to be referenced to ground. In addition, the level shifting circuit includes roll-off filter circuits to prevent high frequency signals from passing to the output terminals over paths which would subject the signals to large amounts of phase shift.

    摘要: A monolithic integrated automatic gain control system for a TV receiver includes a differential gating stage having one reference input, a gating pulse input and a synchronizing signal pulse input. This gating stage is responsive to simultaneous application of gating and sync pulses to provide an output signal proportional to the signal level of the video sync pulse. This output signal is supplied to a differential IF-AGC amplifier stage which supplies an amplified IF-AGC output signal to the IF amplifier of a TV receiver to control the gain thereof. A differential RF-AGC amplifier and delay stage is coupled to the IF-AGC amplifier stage output and provides a delayed RF-AGC signal which is supplied to the RF-amplifier of the TV receiver to provide a delayed RF gain control signal thereto.
