Abstract:
A method and apparatus for talkgroup creation are provided herein. During operation context-aware circuitry will continuously monitor a given area for a specific event or condition. When triggered, the context-aware circuitry will notify a radio controller of the trigger causing talkgroups to be formed specific to the event or condition that is detected. Thus, various radios will be included within a talkgroup as a direct result of the triggering event or condition.
Abstract:
A method and user terminal are provided that analyze social media by assembling a cluster of multiple social media contents, wherein each social media content of the multiple social media contents has one or more associated attributes, determining weights in association with the social media contents included in the cluster, and determining a reliability level of the cluster based on the determined weights. In various embodiments, determining weights may include determining a weight associated with each of one or more attributes shared by two or more of the multiple social media contents of the cluster and/or determining a social media content weight for each of two or more social media contents sharing an attribute. In still other embodiments, the method and user terminal may re-determine the reliability level in response to adding new social media content to the cluster.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for controlling a camera's field of view is provided herein. During operation equipment will receive a location of at least one user device. The equipment will also receive a location of a camera along with camera parameters. The equipment will determine a camera pan, tilt, and/or zoom level in order to increase a number of devices within a camera field of view.
Abstract:
A system, method, and apparatus for implementing workflows across multiple differing systems and devices is provided herein. During operation, a workflow is automatically generated based upon a high probability of overloading resources with a current workflow. In particular, a workstation (or server) detects a high probability that a resource will be overloaded if a particular trigger is implemented. The workstation (or server) then determines an alternate trigger to reduce the chances that a resource will be overloaded. The alternate trigger and action can then be implemented or suggested as a newly-created workflow.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided that aid law enforcement agencies in intercepting a suspect before he or she can go into hiding. The method and apparatus provide for law enforcement agencies to track a person of interest (POI) and to predict an intercept point and/or a destination where the POI may be found, based on situational data and social media content. Further, the method and apparatus provide for determining and adjusting a geofence based on a predicted route and/or destination of a POI and for dispatching public safety officers to the geofence, predicted intercept point, and/or predicted destination to aid in the apprehension of the POI.
Abstract:
A method and user terminal are provided that graphically formulate a search query. The method and user terminal display, via a display screen, a multi-dimensional graphical representation of a search query space, receive a plurality of parameters from a user, wherein the parameters define the search query space, position a multi-dimensional icon in the multi-dimensional representation of the search query space, associate one or more of a keyword and multimedia content with the icon, and generate a search query based on the keyword and the position of the icon in the multi-dimensional representation of the search query space. The method and user terminal further may graphically display the results of the corresponding database search, wherein the retrieved content is displayed as one or more icons positioned in a multi-dimensional graph having a plurality of axes associated with the plurality of parameters defining a context of the search query.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for uploading data is provided herein. During operation vehicles in the field will upload their digital multimedia evidence (DME) to a mobile/intermediary upload point(s). These mobile/intermediary upload points preferably comprise computers existing in other vehicles that are not currently connected to a central repository. A mobile recorder (mDVR) will choose a particular mobile/intermediary upload point(s) based on a probability that the mobile upload point(s) will return to a connected upload point to upload the transferred DME.
