    摘要: A recording apparatus which uses magneto-fluidic material comprising a magnetic multi-stylus head arranged in parallel to oppose a recording plane, a magnet fixed to the multi-stylus head near a tip end thereof, apparatus for supplying magneto-fluidic material to at least one point of the magnet and apparatus for causing the magneto-fluidic material on the multi-stylus to selectively be flung, wherein a plurality of areas of concentration of lines of magnetic force are formed on at least one of outer surfaces of the magnet in order to stabilize the supply of the magneto-fluidic material for the comsumption of the magneto-fluidic material on the multi-stylus head due to the flying of the magneto-fluidic material.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus for nozzleless magnetofluidic recording are disclosed in which a magnetofluidic material is arranged on the surface of a support member disposed oppositely to a recording surface, and by applying a magnetic force to the magnetofluidic material, the magnetofluidic material is protruded on the support member. Further, the magnetofluidic material is subjected to a coulomb force or a magnetic force and transferred from the protruded part to the recording surface, thereby producing an image on the recording surface.

    摘要: An image recording apparatus comprising an array of styli regularly electrically connected at intervals of an integer of styli and an array of opposite electrodes each of which is disposed opposite to a plurality of styli, and either the styli or the opposite electrodes are made of a magnetic material. A protuberance of a magnetofluidic material, which is called magnetic ink herein, is formed on the tip of each stylus or each opposite electrode of magnetic material. A pluse signal having a constant frequency is applied in dot sequential fashion to one of the stylus array and the opposite electrode array, and a signal corresponding to an image is applied to the other, so that the protuberances of the magnetic ink formed on the selected styli or opposite electrodes in the stylus array and opposite electrode array applied with the two signals simultaneously fly toward a recording surface to obtain a desired image thereon.

    摘要: The resistivity of an n-type metal oxide semiconductor such as SnO.sub.2, In.sub.2 O.sub.3 or ZnO is lowered by treating the metal oxide with a metal halide such as SnX.sub.2 or SbX.sub.3, in which the oxidation number of the metal is smaller than the largest oxidation number the metal can take, so as to allow the metal oxide to generally uniformly come into contact with the metal halide. The treatment can be done at room temperature by, for example, the use of a solution of the metal halide and does not cause discoloration of the treated metal oxide. This process is applicable also to a conductive material comprising as its essential component at least one n-type metal oxide semiconductor.

    摘要: This invention provides a magnetic fluid which is diversified in hue and stable in the electric fields.The magnetic fluid of this invention is composed of a dispersion of ferromagnetic particles dispersed by a surfactant, and a colorant having the same charge as the dispersing medium in said dispersing medium.The dyes effective for use in this invention are the nonionic azo dyes, anthrquinone dyes and metal-containing dyes, and the pigments useful in this invention are the organic or inorganic pigments treated so as to have an isoelectric point in the dispersing medium. A magnetic fluid having black color or other desired hues can be obtained by properly selecting the dye and/or pigment.The magnetic fluid of this invention exhibits its excellent properties particularly when used as a recording material.

    摘要: This invention provides a magnetic fluid having a rich hue and containing an organic compound as dispersion medium.The magnetic fluid of this invention is constructed by mixing, into a magnetic dispersion, a colorant prepared by beforehand treating a coloring material with a solubilizing treating agent or a dispersibilizing treating agent. Said solubilizing treating agent or dispersibilizing treating agent has a hydrophobic group and a functional group absorbable or linkable to said coloring material. As said coloring material, a dyestuff, an organic pigment or an inorganic pigment is used. A colorant prepared by subjecting an intermediate of said coloring material to said treatment is also usable. Further, a colorant prepared by pretreating a coloring material so as to give the coloring material an absorbability or a linkability to said solubilizing treating agent or dispersibilizing treating agent and then subjecting the beforehand pretreated coloring material to said treatment is also usable.The magnetic fluid of this invention can retain its initial hue stably for a long period of time, and its hue can be changed without substantially changing the properties of magnetic fluid such as magnetization, viscosity and the like. Accordingly, the magnetic fluid of this invention can be applied extensively to all the use fields of magnetic dispersion, and it exhibits a particularly great effect when applied to uses of developer or ink in the field of printing and recording.
