Polyisocyanate addition products are made by reacting a polysiloxane having isocyanate reactive end groups, excess polyisocyanate and a compound selected from the group consisting of aliphatic alcohols, primary aliphatic amines, secondary aliphatic amines and mixtures thereof having a molecular weight of from 75 to 5000 and at least one tertiary amino group and/or oxyalkylene unit. In a preferred embodiment, the polysiloxane is reacted with excess polyisocyanate and the reaction product is subsequently reacted with the alcohol and/or amine. The addition products of this invention are particularly useful as mold release agents in the production of molded lacquer coated plastics by the "in-mold coating process."

The invention relates to the use of poly-N,N-di-(hydroxyalkyl)-polycarbonamides of aliphatic or cycloaliphatic polycarboxylic acids as reactive flame-retardants for polyurethane foams, and in particular polyurethane integral skin foams and polyurethane rigid foams which are produced with the aid of organic blowing agents. These reactive flame-retardants are added in quantities of from 11.5 to 50 parts by weight, and most preferably from 12 to 25 parts by weight, based on 100 parts of the relatively high molecular weight polyol used for the preparation of the foam. The integral skin or rigid foams produced are flame-resistant and because of their reduced flammability are capable of passing various regulation fire tests, and in particular those testing foams for use in vehicles for transport.

Polyurethanes which have been prepared or combined with another material are made by combining or applying a polyurethane-forming reaction mixture or polyurethane to another material such as a PVC foil or textile. The polyurethane-forming mixture or polyurethane is made up of an organic polyisocyanate, a high molecular weight isocyanate reactive material, a catalyst and a stabilizer against thermolysis and contact discoloration. The required stabilizer is an epoxide having an epoxide equivalent weight between 57 and 10,000. Other additives commonly used in polyurethane chemistry such as blowing agents, chain extenders and surfactants may also be employed. The polyurethane composites thus produced are characterized by improved thermal stability and reduced discoloration.

Composite polyisocyanate addition products are formed from (1) the reaction product of a compound having at least two isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms and a molecular weight of from 400 to 10,000, a polyisocyanate and a catalyst which is a diffusion stable amino alkyl urea having tertiary amino groups and corresponds to the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6, R.sup.7 and n each represent specified groups or values and (2) another different material such as polyvinyl chloride, ABS, lacquers and textiles. Known additives such as blowing agents, chain extenders and foam stabilizers may optionally be used in the production of reaction product (1). The composite materials of the present invention which are particularly useful in the production of bedding and seating furniture, seats used in transport means, dashboard panels, arm-rests and for other similar applications are characterized by their lack of discoloration due to the diffusion of the catalyst employed in producing reaction product (1).

This invention relates to the use of mono- to tetrahydroxyalkyl monoureas corresponding to the following general formula ##STR1## in which A represents a C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 -alkylene group optionally containing OH-groups,n=0, 1 or 2.n'=1 or 2 andn+n'=1, 2, 3 or 4, preferably 2-4 and, more preferably, 3,as reactive flameproofing agents in quantities of from 3 to 100 parts by weight and preferably in quantities of from 11.5 to 50 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of relatively high molecular weight compounds having molecular weights of from 400 to 10,000, preferably relatively high molecular weight polyols, for the production of flameproofed polyurethane foams, and preferably integral skin foams or semirigid to rigid foams. The invention also relates to dispersions or suspensions of mono- to tetrapolyhydroxyalkyl monoureas corresponding to the above formula in relatively high molecular weight compounds containing terminal hydroxyl, primary or secondary amino, carboxyl or hydrazide groups. Preferred are relatively high molecular weight polyols, having a molecular weight in the range from 400 to 10,000. The content of polyhydroxyalkyl monoureas amounts to between 3 and 50% by weight. Finally, the invention relates to tris-hydroxyalkyl monoureas corresponding to the above formula in which n=2, n'=1 and the sum of n+n'=3.

This invention relates to a process for the preparation of stable dispersions of hydroxyl-containing polyhydrazodicarbonamides in a hydroxyl-containing compound. The dispersions are prepared by the reaction of organic isocyanates, isocyanate-reactive compounds having a molecular weight in the range from 400 to 10,000, relatively low molecular weight isocyanate-reactive compounds, and hydrazines or hydrazides. This invention further relates to the dispersions prepared by said process, the use of the dispersions to prepare polyurethane foams having exceptional hardness, and the foams prepared thereby.

The present invention relates to polyisocyanate compositions containing reversibly blocked catalysts for the isocyanate addition reaction, characterized in that they contain(a) at least one organic polyisocyanate,(b) at least one addition product dissolved or dispersed in the polyisocyanate compositions, of a sulfonyl isocyanate with a tertiary amine and/or with a catalyst having a tin(II)- or tin(IV)-carboxylate structure as the reversibly blocked catalyst.The present invention also relates to a process for producing these polyisocyanate compositions and to the use of new polyisocyanate compositions as reactants for compounds containing isocyanate-reactive groups for the production of isocyanate addition products such as polyurethane plastics using a one-component or two-component principle. The present invention finally relates to the latent polyurethane catalysts prepared from a sulfonyl isocyanate and a tin(II)- or tin(IV)-carboxylate.
