    摘要: A method of producing an improved cell growth surface and cell attachment surface. According to the present invention, a polymer article is molded at temperature in excess of 550° F. at the injection tip. After allowing the part to cool, a stream of plasma comprised of activated gaseous species generated by a microwave source is imparted on the article. This stream is directed at the surface of a polymer substrate in a controlled fashion such that the surface is imparted with attributes for cell adhesion superior to those of untreated polymer or polymer treated by other methods.

    摘要: A method for producing multiphase particle-reinforced metal matrix composites is provided. The method is characterized by the combination of an in-situ reaction process under an external electromagnetic field and an in-situ crystallization process under an external electromagnetic field. A traveling wave magnetic field or a rotating magnetic field is employed during the in-situ reaction process, and a rotating magnetic field or a high frequency magnetic field is employed during the in-situ crystallization process. Said method can obtain homogeneous, gradient enhanced or surface reinforced composite materials.

    摘要: A multiwell plate is described that is used for assaying samples and is made from a plastic upper plate which forms the sidewalls of one or more wells and a glass lower plate which forms the bottom walls of the wells. The plastic upper plate and glass lower plate are attached and bound to one another by an enhanced adhesive. The enhanced adhesive includes an adhesive mixed with an additive that interacts with the adhesive, the plastic upper plate and the glass bottom plate in a manner that strengthens a bond between the plastic upper plate and the glass lower plate. Also described herein is a method for making such multiwell plates.
