摘要: A device for sealing an opening in a vessel includes an anchor attached to a suture. The anchor is inserted through the opening into the vessel, and the suture pulls the anchor against the vessel wall, forming a seal. A plug is inserted over the suture and is axially compressed toward the anchor, locking the elements in place. The suture is braided or woven outside of the anchor so that it may be stored and handled easily, and is unbraided, unwoven and/or untangled at its distal end inside the anchor, so that individual filaments within the suture may extend laterally within the anchor. The laterally extending filaments subtend a larger footprint within the anchor than a comparable footprint if the suture were to remain braided or tied into a knot within the anchor, which may more effectively distribute the retaining forces within the anchor.

摘要: A blood access for dialysis includes a radially distensible support structure having an open lattice structure defining a support wall having interstitial open areas and defining exterior and luminal wall surfaces; a first porous polymeric portion having a plurality of pores, the first porous polymeric portion being securably disposed over at least a portion of the exterior wall portion of the support structure; a second porous polymeric portion having a plurality of pores, the second porous polymeric portion being securably disposed over at least a portion of the luminal portion of the support structure; and a biodegradable and/or bioabsorbable material disposed within the pores of the first polymeric portion and/or pores of the second polymeric portion.

摘要: An elongated flexible medical device is inserted into a patient's body via a natural orifice, and advanced through the natural orifice to a location proximate innervated tissue that influences renal sympathetic nerve activity. The medical device can be advanced into a body organ and to a location within the organ proximate the innervated tissue. The organ may comprise an organ of the gastrointestinal tract or urinary tract. The medical device may be advanced through and beyond an access hole in a wall of the organ, and situated at a location proximate the innervated tissue. One or both of imaging and ablation energy is delivered from a distal end of the medical device to the innervated tissue. Innervated renal tissue can be ablated using various forms of energy, including RF energy, ultrasound energy, optical energy, and thermal energy.

The closure device may include a plug, an intravascular anchor, a suture that couples the plug to the intravascular anchor and a cinching element that provides a compressive axial force to the plug, wherein the plug and cinching element are positioned over a length of the suture and the suture is secured to the intravascular anchor with a fastening portion embedded in the intravascular anchor.

摘要: Methods of installing a vascular closure device, the vascular closure device adapted for sealing an opening in biological tissue and comprising an anchor, a compressible plug, a cinch and a suture, the method comprising the steps of providing an insertion sheath, inserting the insertion sheath into the opening in the biological tissue, providing a device sheath having the vascular closure device preloaded therein with a proximal portion of the suture attached to the device sheath, subsequent to the step of inserting the insertion sheath, inserting the device sheath into the insertion sheath, and retracting the insertion sheath and device sheath simultaneously, wherein during the retraction, the insertion sheath and the device sheath are fixed to one another and devices adapted to the methods.
