    摘要: In an x-ray source having a cathode emitting electron beams (15, 16) bombarding inner surfaces of an inverted conical anode target cooled by flowing water on its exterior, providing in place of the apex (14b) of the conical anode (34) a rearwardly facing upstream cylindrical extension (34b) which insures against apex tip burn-out by extending the cooling structure, area and mass to an upstream position to further dissipate heat energy flux generated by impingement of the electron beam. Portions functioning to effectively cool the anode target extend into non-beam illuminating regions of the target anode.

    摘要: An extended radiating aperture for X-rays is provided by means of a stationary target of an X-ray emissive metal positioned for uniform illumination by high speed electrons emanating from a cathode and accelerating through a difference of potential between the cathode and the target. The target is in the form of a relatively thin film which can be deposited on a substrate transparent to X-radiation. The substrate cools the target. The generator is advantageously utilized with a zone plate which provides a coding on a roentgenogram which is then decoded by an optical processor to form a visible image of an object being X-rayed. An alternative embodiment of the invention includes the use of an inclined transmissive target for enhanced monochromaticity to emitted radiation.

    摘要: A piece of furniture has a generally stationary main part, an actuator in the main part, and a movable part that is pivotal on the main part generally about an axis. An actuating assembly for the movable part has an elongated one-piece operating bar formed of a single piece of tubing having a central portion extending along the axis and a pair of U-shaped end portions each having an inner arm forming a continuation of a respective outer end of the central portion and an outer arm extending across the axis, projecting radially therefrom, and provided with mounting formations. The portions and arms all are generally coplanar. Pivot pins fixed on the main part engage through the outer arms at the axis for pivoting of the operating bar on the main frame about the axis. Respective fittings secured to the mounting formations of the outer arms are connected to the movable part and a crank arm fixed on the central portion and extending radially therefrom is operatively connected to the actuator in the main part.

    摘要: An apparatus for cooling the work rolls of a roll stand includes for each roll a cooling water duct equipped with spray nozzles at a spray beam as well as devices for supplying cooling water and for removing heated water, a cooling water guide plate for the upper work roll arranged at an acute angle relative to the rolling stock surface and provided with a stripping member at the front of the guide plate facing the upper roll, and an essentially horizontally extending cooling water guide plate located closely underneath the rolling stock plane and provided with a stripping member for the lower roll. A cover plate is arranged in a sandwich-type configuration above the upper cooling water guide plate so as to form a liquid-conducting gap and the gap is connected at its end facing away from the roll with a cooling water suction device, and at least one suction pipe is arranged underneath the lower cooling water guide plate, wherein the suction pipe extends into the liquid-conducting corner area formed between the lower cooling water guide plate and the stripping member thereof and a surface portion of the lower roll, and wherein the suction pipe is connected to a cooling water suction device.

    摘要: X-ray tube construction comprising a housing with a metal tube envelope therein and a shaft. An anode plate is carried by the shaft. Bearings are disposed on opposite sides of the anode plate and rotatably mount the shaft in the envelope. A motor drive is coupled to the shaft for rotating the shaft and the anode plate carried thereby. A cathode is provided for supplying electrons which are accelerated by a high voltage to the anode plate for creating x-rays upon impingement with the anode plate. A heat cage is disposed in the housing and the envelope and surrounds the anode plate. X-ray shielding is disposed within the housing between the envelope and the housing. Windows are provided in the shielding, the metal envelope and in the heat cage to permit x-rays to pass therethrough. Particularly novel means is provided for dissipating the heat generated in the anode and for dissipating the same exterior of the housing prior to the heat passing to the opposite extremities of the shaft. Shaft constructions have been utilized which inhibit the travel of heat to the opposite ends of the shafts and thereby serving to protect the bearings rotatably supporting the shaft.
