    摘要: A flat display panel assembly includes an evacuated glass envelope having a faceplate, a source of electron beams, a control electrode assembly including a stack of electrode substrates each having a predetermined pattern of electrode holes defined therein, and anodes formed by depositing phosphor material on the faceplate in correspondence with the electrode holes in the electrode substrates. At least one of the electrode substrates is made of a material having a coefficient of thermal expansion different from that of the remaining electrode substrates. The electrodes holes in such one of the electrode substrates are so defined and so arranged as to be offset from the corresponding electrode holes in the other electrode substrates by an increasing as a distance increases from a center portion of the electrode assembly towards the perimeter of the electrode assembly. With the electrode holes so defined and so arranged, the electrode substrates are movably supported to accomodate the thermal expansion.

    摘要: A method of fabricating an electrode unit for use in a flat type image display apparatus, wherein the flat type image display apparatus includes a plurality of flat sheet-shaped electrodes, comprises the steps of mounting in position a first electrode on a second electrode via an insulative bonding material, temporarily fixing the first electrode to the second electrode via a pair of opposing temporary fixing parts formed in each of the first and second electrodes, permanently fixing the first electrode to the second electrode via the insulative bonding material, and removing the pair of temporary fixing parts. The step of temporarily fixing is performed using a temporary fixing spacer disposed between the temporary fixing parts.

    摘要: An image display apparatus includes a rear electrode for controlling a first quantity of electrons in an electron beam. Also included is an electron beam generating source for generating the electrons which travel in parallel with each other and an extraction electrode for extracting the electron beams from the generated electrons. A control electrode is also included for selectively controlling a second quantity of electrons in the electron beams which have passed through the extraction electrode and a horizontal deflection electrode for electrostatically deflecting the electron beams. A vertical deflection electrode is provided for deflecting the electron beams which have passed through the horizontal deflection electrode. The vertical deflection electrode has a first comb-shaped conductive sheet having first parallel members and a second comb-shaped conductive sheet having second parallel members. The first members and the second members are alternatively formed adjacent to each in the horizontal direction. Furthermore, the first comb-shaped conductive sheet and the second comb-shaped conductive sheet have notches formed at regular intervals. The horizontal deflection electrode and the vertical deflection electrode are insulated from each other.

    摘要: An image display apparatus includes an electron beam generating source for generating the electrons which travel in parallel with each other and an extraction electrode for extracting the electron beams from the generated electrons.     摘要: A novel electrode unit includes a plurality of linear cathodes and a plurality of flat-shaped electrodes. Each of the electrodes has a plurality of identification holes. The relative positional relationship of the identification holes is uniform with regard to each of the electrodes. However, the positions of the identification holes are shifted from those of adjacent electrodes by a predetermined interval so that a line connecting centers of the ID holes is parallel or perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the linear cathodes when the electrodes are piled up and evenly aligned. The identification holes allow the electrodes to be accurately positioned with respect to each other when assembling the electrodes into the electrode unit. Each of the electrodes also includes a temporary fixing part at an area indented from an outer circumference of the electrode. During assembly of an electrode unit, the temporary fixing part is fixed to a temporary fixing part of an adjacent electrode via a spacer. Upon completion of a permanent fixing procedure between the two electrodes, the temporary fixing part is removed.
