摘要: To provide a method for treating ballast water with a membrane, which can reliably remove a fouling substance derived from a gel-like substance and a fouling substance of mineral origin, the fouling substances attached to a membrane, by separating or breaking down the fouling substances, and can maintain the membrane flux for long periods. In a method for treating ballast water with a membrane, the method provided with, in or on a hull of a ship, the membrane treatment equipment 1 that separates a microorganism with a size equal to or greater than a predetermined size, a fouling substance attached to the surface of the membrane is dissolved, broken down, or removed by using a cleaning fluid containing a peroxide which is at least one selected from hydrogen peroxide, hypochlorous acid, and ozone water.

摘要: An image sensor unit has an electric discharge light emitting lamp for producing an illumination beam. The lamp includes a first electrode and a second electrode facing each other and defining a discharge space between them along the longitudinal axis of the lamp. A first light emitting layer and a second light emitting layer are provided in the discharge space so as to face each other and to cover the first and second electrodes, respectively. A dielectric material is inserted between the first electrode and the first light emitting layer, and between the second electrode and the second light emitting layer. At least one of the first and second light emitting layers is arranged so as to define an uncovered region, in which at least one of the dielectric material, the first electrode, and the second electrode is exposed to the discharge space.

摘要: Method for the production of lipds containing bis-homo-.gamma.-linolenic acid and/or arachidonic acid using microorganisms belonging to a genus Conidiobolus and capable of producing the lipids. The microorganisms are cultured on a medium containing an unsaturated fatty acid as a carbon source. The unsaturated fatty acid may be supplied as an additional carbon source in the course of culture. Preferably, the unsaturated fatty acid has 18 carbon atoms and 1 to 3 double bonds.

摘要: An electromagnetic forming method is disclosed which effects desired forming on a given workpiece by disposing on the surface of the workpiece a driver obtained by superposing a highly electroconductive metal foil repeatedly over itself, opposing a primary coil to the driver, feeding electric current for forming to the primary coil thereby generating induced current in the driver, and allowing the workpiece to be formed by the resultant repulsive force exerted between the driver and the primary coil.

摘要: A stirred gas bubble fermenter is provided with a cooler outside the fermenter which is coupled to the fermenter through an overflow exit. An overflow weir is connected to the inner wall of the fermenter below the overflow exit and extends at least in the upward direction of the fermenter. In a preferred embodiment, the overflow weir extends above the upper extremity of the overflow exit. The fermenter may further be provided with a guide plate arranged between at least a portion of the overflow weir and at least a portion of the overflow exit in order to more efficiently separate bubbles from a culture broth in the fermenter.
