摘要： An offset compensation circuit for compensating a DC offset which occurs in a circuit line including an A/D converter or an A/D and D/A converter in which not only the polarity bit of digital data but also information concerning the amplitude of an analog input signal are applied to an integrator to precisely compensate an offset voltage in a circuit line. The level of a proper offset compensation voltage is provided even when an input analog signal such as a music signal is absent, and when an A/D and D/A converter is provided which can perform both A/D conversion and D/A conversion the DC offset can be precisely compensated shortly after the change of the mode from D/A conversion to A/D conversion.

A flag in received data is monitored. When the flag indicates that a block of data contains more errors than can be corrected in the reproducing apparatus upon reproduction, the data block is either replaced by null data or a previously received data block having an acceptable error rate, the choice being in accordance with an input mode instruction.

A first tape is reproduced while monitoring the reproduced signal for the presence of address signals. When an address signal is detected, recording of the reproduced signal on the second tape is halted, and a new address signal corresponding to the detected address signal is generated and recorded on the second tape.

摘要： A method for performing a reproduction and search operation on a data recording and reproducing device of the helical scan type which includes a pair of recording and reproducing heads mounted on a rotary drum. The method includes the steps of: (a) during the reproduction operation, transporting the tape and rotating the rotary drum such that a relative speed between said tape and the heads is either a first relative speed or a second relative speed which is less than the first relative speed; and (b) during the search operation, transporting the tape at a speed substantially greater than a tape speed used during the reproduction operation and rotating the rotary drum at a speed such that a relative speed between the tape and the heads is equal to the second lower relative speed.

摘要： An apparatus for recording and reproducing digital signals using a helical scan in which a drum of reduced diameter is employed without changing the tape format. Two heads are mounted on a drum at the same height in opposition to each other with a product of the diameter D of the drum and the wrap-around angle of the tape with respect to the rotary drum being constant while the speed of the drum is increased to a speed N times higher than a predetermined speed. One of the heads is mounted higher than the other by a distance of (1-1/N)P to provide a step, and the other head being is mounted at a position an angle behind the position at which the other head directly opposes the one of the heads, which angle is defined by: ##EQU1## where L is the track length in the tape format used when the rotary drum rotates at the predetermined rotational speed, .THETA. is the track angle, P is the track pitch, and C is a constant dependent on the drum diameter D and the wrap-around angle. Methods for performing high speed searches with this apparatus are also disclosed.

摘要： An information record medium (1: DVD) has a record track (1a) to be reproduced by an information reproducing apparatus (S2). The information reproducing apparatus is provided with a read device (80) and reproduces audio information by a predetermined audio frame unit while relatively moving the read device along the record track recorded with at least the audio information by the audio frame unit. A plurality of audio packets (43, 202) are arranged along the record track, in each of which audio information pieces (207) constructing the audio information sampled by a predetermined sampling frequency and audio control information (203) for controlling a reproduction of the audio information pieces by the information reproducing apparatus are respectively recorded. The audio control information is provided with time management information (203f: PTS) for specifying a time, by a predetermined specification frequency, to manage a timing of outputting the audio information, which is included in the audio frame which head is positioned in the audio packet including the audio control information, in the reproduction by the information reproducing apparatus.

Lowest reading rate information (212) indicates a minimum requirement of a reading rate for the information reproducing apparatus to reproduce a reproduction unit, which comprises at least one of the first data groups and which is to be reproduced by the information reproducing apparatus such that a sequential logical meaning of the reproduction unit is continuous. The lowest reading rate information is recorded on the record track at one portion (LI, 11, 41) different from another portion where the record information is recorded.
