A room temperature curable rubber composition of a condensation curing type that comprises as a base polymer a diorganopolysiloxane or a polyoxyalkylene in which both ends of the molecular chain are blocked with a hydrolyzable silyl group, and a .beta.-dicarbonyl compound and an amino group containing organic compound that are blended with the base polymer. Since the room temperature curable rubber composition is cured with water in the air and at the same time the dehydration condensation of the .beta.-carbonyl group and the amino group produces water in the composition, the quick curability and deep curability are improved remarkably. In addition, since this dehydration condensation reaction is an irreversible reaction, the product produced by the condensation dehydration is hydrolyzed to prevent the amino group containing compound from being regenerated, and as a result the hydrophilic nature of the cured product is prevented from increasing not to damage the water resistance.

Cork plugs are obtained by mixing the composition with cork chips followed by molding and curing.

The invention provides a foamable organopolysiloxane composition capable of giving, by foaming and curing at room temperature, a silicone rubber foam of high foaming expansion having very uniform and dense cellular structure. The composition is prepared by a process comprising the steps of: (A) compounding an .alpha.,.omega.-dihydroxy dimethylpolysiloxane with a reinforcing silica filler, hexamethyl disilazane and water as the hydrolysis agent of the silazane to give a compound; (B) removing ammonia in the compound formed by the hydrolysis of the silazane compound as completely as possible; and (C) compounding the compound with a polyhydroxy methylpolysiloxane, an organohydrogenpolysiloxane and a platinum compound as a catalyst for the dehydrogenation reaction between the silanolic hydroxy groups and the silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms to produce hydrogen as the foaming gas.

A room temperature-curable organopolysiloxane composition capable of giving a highly oil-resistant cured silicone rubber is disclosed. The composition comprises, as the essential ingredients, a hydroxy-terminated diorganopolysiloxane, an iminoxysilane compound as a crosslinking agent, an organotin compound as a catalyst and, as an oil-resistance improver, a combination of zinc carbonate and zinc hydroxide in a powdery form of which the content of zinc hydroxide is, different from conventional basic zinc carbonate, 5 to 50% by weight. By virtue of this unique ingredient, the composition is also advantageous in respect of the high storage stability.

A room temperature curable fluoropolymer composition is provided which comprises (A) a straight chain fluoropolymer compound containing, in its backbone chain, at least one structure selected from a perfluoroalkylene structure and a perfluoropolyether structure and having a hydrolyzable silyl group at both ends of its molecular chain, (B) an organic compound having at least one carbonyl group per molecule, and (C) one compound selected from (C-1) an organic compound having at least one primary amino group per molecule and (C-2) a compound having at least one proton per molecule and having an acid dissociation constant (pKa) in water of 2 or less. Another room temperature curable composition is also provided which comprises said (A) component, (B') an organosilicon compound having at least two silanol groups per molecule, and (C') a condensation accelerator. These compositions are not only excellent in heat resistance, weatherability, electrical properties, processability, chemical resistance, solvent resistance and oil repellant properties, but also excellent in fast curability and deep-portion curability. A novel compound which is suitable as said fluoropolymer compound (A) is further provided.
