    摘要: A charge-injected internal combustion engine exhibits improved starting performance with charge-injection timing control. A charge-injected internal combustion engine has an air-fuel injection valve for directly injecting a compressed air-fuel mixture into a combustion chamber. The engine is also provided with an air pump, driven by the crankshaft for discharging compressed air, and a timing controller for setting injection timing of the air-fuel injection valve. When initial startup of the engine is detected, the controller sets the injection timing to the intake stroke. When the engine reaches a predetermined engine speed, or when the pressure of the injection air reaches a threshold pressure where injection of the air-fuel mixture is possible on the compression stroke, the timing controller switches the injection timing from the intake stroke to the compression stroke.

A basic injection amount calculating unit calculates a basic fuel injection amount Ti on the basis of engine parameters such as the engine cooling water temperature TW and the engine speed Ne. An injection amount increasing unit performs a control to increase the fuel injection amount at the time of starting the engine from the automatic stoppage state of the engine, based on the throttle opening detected by a throttle sensor.

    摘要: In order to supply an air-fuel mixture composed of the fuel and compressed air to a combustion chamber of an engine, an air-fuel mixture valve is opened by a valve body which is moved via the core shifted by magnetic force of the electromagnetic coil. The invention provides a method of determining the magnetic force of the electromagnetic coil on the basis of the relationship defined by Fm.gtoreq.Fv-fa, where Fm denotes axial tension depending upon the magnetic force of the electromagnetic coil, Fv denotes force necessary for opening or closing the empty air-fuel mixture valve, and fa denotes force for compressed air to open the air-fuel mixture valve. The pressure of the compressed air is used as the auxiliary force to open the air-fuel mixture valve. This allows the air-fuel mixture valve to be made more compact and reduces power consumption of the electromagnetic coil.

    摘要: A spark ignition internal combustion engine includes a sub-combustion chamber in which gas mixture with an air-fuel ratio adapted for an operating state of the engine over a wide operating range of the engine is supplied to a combustion chamber. The amount of hydrogen carbide discharged is less and a high efficiency can be attained. The sub-combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine communicates with the main combustion chamber. Gas mixture injecting apparatus intermittently injects gas mixture into the sub-combustion chamber. Ignition devices are arranged in the sub-combustion chamber. The engine is constructed such that the sub-combustion chamber is eccentric in a sideward direction from an extending line of injecting direction of the gas mixture injecting apparatus and communicated with the main combustion chamber. The gas mixture injecting apparatus includes a pressure accumulating chamber adjacent to the sub-combustion chamber and to which pressure air is filled, the opening or closing valve to cause the pressure accumulating chamber to be communicated with the sub-combustion chamber in such a way that they may be opened or closed, and the fuel injecting valve for injecting fuel to the pressure accumulating chamber.
