The present invention provides a method for immobilizing a biomolecule on a carrier having reactive groups which comprises: (i) a step of activating some reactive groups so that they can form a covalent bond with a biomolecule; (ii) a step of reacting the biomolecule with the aforementioned activated reactive groups; and (iii) a step of again activating some reactive groups; wherein the steps (i), (ii) and (iii) are performed in this order.
