Abstract: Disclosed is an additive manufacturing device that facilitates the manufacturing of relatively large 3D objects at a short time. The device uses radiation-curable resin and radiation curing system. Layer shaping members are disclosed to provide both for shorter manufacturing time of an object, minimizing waste of resin and reduction of weight. Curing radiation sources are also designed to minimizing waste of resin and manufacturing time.

Abstract: An apparatus for additive manufacturing of large 3D hollow objects with thin walls, includes a 3D hollow object material deposition module configured to deposit a portion of material forming at least a layer of a 3D hollow object wall; a 3D hollow object material solidifying module configured to solidify at least the portion of material forming at least a layer of the 3D hollow object wall; and a support material dispensing module configured to dispense a support material across a cross section of the 3D hollow object wall. The support material is dispensed separately prior to or concurrently with the deposition of the portion of material forming at least a layer of a 3D hollow object wall.

Abstract: Described is a method of manufacture of 3D objects from composite materials. The method includes the use of an extrusion nozzle configured to extrude the composite material, including a multistrand filament with a thixotropic acrylic matrix material surrounding the multistrand filament. Extruding a 3D object surface segment spanning in the air over at least a segment of a discontinuous work surface and operating concurrently a source of curing energy to pin and enhance the strength of a 3D object surface segment spanning in air. The 3D object extruded surface segment spanning in the air is sufficiently rigid and maintains its shape without the use of a mandrel.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing of 3D objects. The apparatus includes a number of material deposition heads terminated by nozzles, of which one or two nozzles are configured to deposit a first material to form a first and second pattern layers. The pattern layers are laterally shifted from each other such that when the first and second pattern layers are deposited, a space (empty volume) with a varying cross section is formed. In some examples, two or more nozzles could be used to deposit the corresponding first and second pattern layers. The nozzles could move independent of each other.

Abstract: The current three-dimensional object manufacturing technique relies on the deposition of a pseudoplastic material in gel aggregate state. The gel flows through a deposition nozzle because the applied agitation and pressure shears the bonds and induces a breakdown in the material elasticity. The elasticity recovers immediately after leaving the nozzle, and the gel solidifies to maintain its shape and strength.
