    Abstract: An in-vehicle network system includes an upper device, a first intermediate device, and a first lower device. The first intermediate device includes a first communication unit and a second communication unit that are arranged redundantly and that have a communication function. The first intermediate device is configured to communicate with the upper device via a plurality of communication paths. The first lower device is connected to the first communication unit and the second communication unit of the first intermediate device.

    Abstract: An in-vehicle network system includes a central ECU, which generates a control signal for a plurality of devices, and a plurality of zone ECUs, which relay a control signal from the central ECU. The plurality of devices include a first specific device (power window device, etc.), which is a device unrelated to drive control or the like of a vehicle, and which includes a sub controller (third signal processing unit, etc.) capable of activating an actuator based on an ON signal from at least one or some of the sensors. The first specific device is configured to control the actuator by using the sub controller in occurrence of abnormality of communication between the central ECU and the first specific device.

    Abstract: A central control device and a plurality of relay devices constitute a backbone network. Each of the relay device includes: a backbone-side communication port connected to a backbone network; a plurality of device-side communication ports configured to input and output a signal to/from an onboard device; and a first interface conversion device configured to perform interface conversion between the backbone-side communication port and the device-side communication ports. The device-side communication ports include a plurality of general-purpose communication ports to which a common input circuit and/or output circuit is connected. A predetermined first onboard device is directly connected to the general-purpose communication ports, whereas a predetermined second onboard device is connected to the general-purpose communication ports via a predetermined first onboard device.

    Abstract: A vehicle control system includes a central ECU configured to calculate target outputs of actuators, and relay devices each disposed in a communication path between the central ECU and a corresponding actuator among the actuators. The plurality of relay devices includes a specific relay device configured transfer a control signal from the central ECU only to a fixed actuator that is an actuator not related to driving control, braking control, and steering control of a vehicle. The specific relay device is configured to output, to the fixed actuator coupled to the specific relay device, one of a signal for setting the fixed actuator in an operating state or a signal for setting the fixed actuator in a non-operating state, in response to detection of an abnormality in the central ECU. The specific relay device does not have a function of diagnosing an abnormality in the specific relay device.

    Abstract: A design method for a vehicle control system includes constructing a daisy chain trunk network by a central processing unit and a plurality of zone ECUs, calculating a first activation time from when a network is sequentially activated from a predetermined zone ECU to when the central processing unit is activated, calculating a second activation time from when a network is sequentially activated from the central processing unit to when the zone ECU is activated, and determining a connection destination of an information acquisition unit and a connection destination of an in-vehicle device from the zone ECUs in a manner that a total time of the first activation time and the second activation time is less than a predetermined delay time.
