    摘要: A connector assembly provided for efficient flow of liquid into and/or out of a vial, such as a vial containing a lyophilized drug. The connector assembly features a collar mountable to the rim of the vial in a locked position and thereafter removable by an end-user when disposal of the device is desired. A protective cap mountable over the collar includes an annulus-type ring at its proximal end which mounts over locking structure associated with the collar. The ring is secured to the protective cap via one or more user-severable connections. As the cap is urged proximally, the ring places the collar in the locked position with the vial rim, exerting an inwardly-directed force onto the locking structure to secure the collar to the vial rim. The cap can be separated from the ring at its user-severable connections, and the device used in its ordinary matter. When disposal is desired, the ring may be urged proximally out of engagement with the locking structure of the collar. The collar may thereafter be removed from the vial to facilitate separate disposal of those components.

    摘要: A device for automatically injecting a material into the body is disclosed. The device includes a drive assembly and a syringe assembly which is mounted to the drive assembly. The drive assembly includes a drive rod, a driver releasably coupled to the drive rod, and a constant force spring which urges the drive rod towards the syringe assembly. The spring first urges the coupled drive rod and driver along the axis of the device, causing the skin to be penetrated by the needle of the syringe assembly. The drive rod is then decoupled from the driver. The spring continues to urge the drive rod in the axial direction, whereby the drive rod engages a piston in the syringe assembly and causes the displacement of the material therein.

    摘要: A unit (3) for fitting on the open top of a container (1) made of cardboard, corrugated board or similar lightweight semi-rigid sheet material, said unit including securing means (10) arranged to be located and secured in an aperture (15) in a side wall of the container, spaced downwardly from the top thereof, to secure the unit to the container, the said securing means being arranged to extend through the said aperture and to protrude inwardly of the container wall, and being formed as a hollow element to define an outwardly opening but inwardly closed hand hole in the container wall, which hand hole is closed off from the container interior. In an alternative form the hand hole is not necessarily inwardly closed, but the securing member is locked in position.

    摘要: An incrementing mechanism suitable for use in a medical injector device has a driving member rotatably and slidably mounted within a tubular body and arranged to advance an elongate element in one direction with respect to the tubular body. A one-way clutch includes a generally conical surface and a blocking clutch member engageable with the conical surface. Means are provided to disengage the clutch, including a pressure component arranged and biased to engage the clutch member. Rotation of the driving member with respect to the pressure component causes two sets of inter-engageable teeth to ride over each other, which successively lifts the pressure component to disengage the clutch member from the conical surface and then allows the pressure component to be biased to a position where the clutch member engages the conical surface.

    摘要: A cartridge assembly for a syringe-type medication dispensing unit includes a cartridge having a cartridge body with first and second ends. A pierceable membrane is mounted at the first end and a piston is mounted at the second end, with a volume of medication contained in the cartridge body between the membrane and the piston. A cartridge holder receives the cartridge and defines first and second ends. The first holder end defines a central opening and an external thread for mounting a double-ended needle. The second holder end defines an external thread for securing the holder to a medication dispensing unit and an actuating shoulder. The holder frictionally engages the cartridge to form an assembly which can be handled as a single modular unit with the cartridge held securely in the holder by frictional engagement.
