    摘要: Methods and apparatus for control signaling in a communication system using continuous valued measurement and feedback are disclosed. The control signaling utilizes delta-sigma modulation where a measured phase or amplitude of a received signal is used to determine a difference signal by subtracting a previously quantized integrated difference signal from the current measurement signal, and then integrating the difference signal. The integrated difference signal is quantized and transmitted to the device originating the received signal as feedback control signaling. The device originating the received signal may then filter the control signaling to obtain the desired control information used to adjust or control the transmission of the signal transmitted by the device. By utilizing delta-sigma modulation, a greater degree of control signaling precision is achieved when controlling variables such as phase or amplitude of the transmitted signals, thereby achieving improved communication system performance.

Common timing parameters may be identified for use in relation to discontinuous uplink transmissions on each of a two or more wireless carriers concurrently transmitting from an access terminal. A first operational state is associated with a first wireless carrier, while a second, different state is associated with a second wireless carrier. The first carrier may be operated in the first operational state concurrently with the second carrier being operated in the second operational state, with each carrier operated in accordance with the common timing parameters.

    摘要: An apparatus and method enables a dynamic change from one carrier to another in a wireless telecommunication system. In one example, user equipment receives a preconfiguration message adapted to enable the user equipment to be preconfigured for an initial carrier and a subsequent carrier. Here, the user equipment initially communicates over an air interface utilizing the initial carrier frequency. Upon the satisfaction of certain conditions, such as one of the initial carriers being heavily loaded or nearing its capacity, a Node B provides an order to the user equipment to switch from its initial carrier to the secondary carrier, which was preconfigured. In this way, relatively rapid carrier switching provides for enhanced load balancing largely controlled by the Node B.

    摘要: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate communicating user plane data over common control resources by specifying a UTRAN radio network temporary identifier (U-RNTI). In this regard, a Node B or an RNC receiving the user plane data can associate the data to the UE based on the U-RNTI. The user plane data can be transmitted in a control message with the associated U-RNTI, such as a CELL UPDATE message or another message having a U-RNTI specified in a media access control (MAC)-i header or other header in the message. The control message can also include parameters regarding the existence and specifications of the user plane data. In this regard, a UE can communicate user plane data when in a (UTRAN) registration area paging channel (URA_PCH) or other relatively inactive state though it has not received an enhanced radio network temporary identifier (E_RNTI).

    摘要: In one embodiment, the present invention is a method for conserving power supplied to a linear feedback shift register (LFSR) long code (LC) generator, the method including steps of operating the LC generator during pre-assigned time slots; shutting off the LC generator during standby periods between the pre-assigned time slots; and priming starting states of the LC generator for synchronization with pre-assigned time slots following a standby period. This embodiment of the present invention enables power to be removed from the LFSR LC generator as well as the LFSR clock. Because the accuracy of the LFSR clock is usually derived from a system master transistor-controlled crystal oscillator (TCXO), and because the LFSR clock operates at a relatively high rate, the TCXO can also be powered down to conserve power. A low frequency, low power clock source can then be used instead of the higher powered clock source and TCXO to maintain operation of the mobile during the mobile sleep state.

    摘要: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate synthesizing a single baseband waveform from digital signals related to multiple carriers. Digital signals can be received relating to a plurality of carriers. The digital signals can result from spreading data symbols from transport blocks to create chip sequences, which can additionally be pulse shaped. The digital signals can be rotated in a positive or negative direction, such as according to a complex sinusoid or a negative representation thereof. The rotated signals can be combined or added to generate a single baseband waveform. The single baseband waveform can be converted to an analog signal, which can be up-converted and centered at a plurality of frequency carriers, which can be adjacent, assigned for transmitting the signal. In addition, optimizations can be provided to ensure threshold power ratio over the plurality of carriers for effectively transmitting jointly encoded signals.
