摘要: A resistance welding electrode for supplying a current to metal workpieces to weld the workpieces to each other includes an electrode body as an electrode matrix of a copper alloy and a plurality of filamentary members embedded in the electrode matrix parallel to the direction in which a current flows therethrough. The filamentary members have respective tip ends exposed as lands on a surface of a tip end of the electrode body. The filamentary members are made of a material having an electric conductivity different from that of the electrode matrix. The exposed tip ends of the filamentary members having a total area which is in the range of 0.5 to 40% of the entire area of the tip end of the electrode body.

摘要: For resistance-welding workpieces of metal, an electrode is pressed against superposed regions of the workpieces and an electric current is supplied to the superposed regions to heat the same due to an electric resistance of the workpieces. The electrode has a body having a tip end for pressed engagement with one of the workpieces, and a matrix of tapered teeth disposed on the tip end of the body except for a center of the tip end. The teeth define recesses therebetween. One of the recesses is positioned at the center of the tip end, and the teeth are progressively higher from an outer circumferential edge of the tip end toward the center thereof.

摘要: A metal material comprises a Zn—Al—Sn based alloy (ZAS alloy) and Cu diffused in the alloy, wherein Cu is diffused into the inside of the alloy to a depth from the surface of 0.5 mm or more, the concentration of Cu decreases from the surface of the ZAS alloy towards the inside thereof, and there is present no specific interface between Cu and the ZAS alloy; and a method for producing the metal material involves applying, to the surface of the ZAS alloy, an agent comprising a solvent and, dispersed therein, a material containing Cu such as a Cu powder and a Cu—Mn alloy powder and preferably, dispersed or dissolved therein, a reducing agent capable of reducing an oxide film present on the surface of the ZAS alloy, and heating the ZAS alloy having the agent applied thereon, to thereby diffuse Cu into the alloy.

摘要: Disclosed is a molding method for powder particles, which is excellent in molding performance, and which makes it possible to obtain a preliminary molded product excellent in strength by enhancing mutual bonding between particles in the preliminary molded product. A molding apparatus for powder particles includes an outer frame die having a mold space with a lower punch and an upper punch to be slidably fitted thereto. Slight clearances exist between the outer frame die and the lower and upper punches. A mixture is prepared by mixing a powdery raw material with a liquid additive to cause an exothermic reaction therewith.

摘要: A functionally gradient material having desired characteristics without having any joining section is efficiently obtained by means of integration effected by a sintering treatment, the functionally gradient material comprising a metal part composition containing predetermined components based on a basic composition of tungsten and copper and a ceramic part composition containing predetermined components based on a basic composition of aluminum nitride and aluminum. Therefore, the metal and the ceramic are integrated into one unit without providing any joining section to give a high joining reliability and high thermal conductivity.
