A battery is provided which has a high capacity and can improve battery characteristics, such as cycle characteristics. The battery includes a spirally wound electrode body, wherein a cathode and an anode are wound with a separator in between. The anode includes, for example, simple substances, alloys, compounds of metal elements or metalloid elements capable of forming an alloy with Li, the like and combinations thereof. An electrolytic solution wherein an electrolyte salt is dissolved in a solvent is impregnated in the separator. For the electrolyte salt, a light metallic salt having B—O bond or P—O bond, such as difluoro[oxalato-O,O′]lithium borate and tetra fluoro[oxalato-O,O′]lithium phosphate, can be used. By forming a stable coating, decomposition reaction of the solvent can be inhibited, and reaction between the anode and the solvent can be prevented.

A non-aqueous electrolytic solutions which has self-distinguishing property, low reactivity to metal lithium and high withstand voltage is provided. The non-aqueous electrolytic solutions of the first invention comprise, as electrolyte, lithium salt preferably LiPF.sub.6 and, as solvent, phosphoric acid esters of the following general formula [1]; ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3, which may be the same or different, represent an alkyl group or an alkyl group substituted by one or more halogen atoms and at least one of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 represents an alkyl group substituted by one or more halogen atoms. The non-aqueous electrolytic solutions of the second invention comprise, as solvents for electrolyte, trimethyl phosphate, one or more linear carbonates represented by the following general formula [3]; ##STR2## (wherein R.sup.6 represents methyl or ethyl group and R.sup.7 represents a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms) and one or more cyclic carbonates and, as electrolyte, LiPF.sub.6 ; wherein content of the trymetyl phosphate is 1 to 10% by volume of the solvents for electrolyte. The non-aqueous electrolytic solution is suitable for a cell using carbon material capable of being doped and dedoped with lithium ions as a negative electrode active material and complexed oxide of lithium and a transition metal as a positive electrode active material.

A polymer electrolyte with the superior chemical stability and the high ion conductivity and a battery using it are provided. A polymer electrolyte (23) contains a polymer compound having a structure in which polyvinyl acetal is polymerized and an electrolytic solution containing a solvent and an electrolyte salt. The solvent contains 80 wt % or more of carbonate ester in which a cyclic compound such as ethylene carbonate and a chain compound such as methyl ethyl carbonate are mixed. The weight ratio between the cyclic compound and the chain compound in carbonate ester is in the range from 2:8 to 5:5. Thereby, high ion conductivity can be obtained. In addition, even when the ratio of carbonate ester in the solvent is increased, the solubility of polyvinyl acetal can be improved.

Moreover, an interrupt function separate from normal interrupts is established by setting a specified operation mode, whereby, when a data processor is used as an emulator, the break of a user program including the ordinary interrupt processes can be easily effected by utilizing the special interrupt function. Also, by additionally providing the function of delivering out a signal indicative of the break status, an external circuit can be simplified.
