    摘要: A method of, and an apparatus for, positioning a playback head in a transverse reference position on one edge of a multitrack magnetic tape having no track identification data or other positioning patterns prerecorded thereon. A tape drive unit is provided which has an erase head with an erase gap spanning the complete width of the tape. An alternating current generator circuit is connected to the erase head for supplying thereto a constant frequency alternating current to be written as a transverse head positioning pattern by the erase head on selected part of the tape throughout its width. The positioning pattern is then read by the playback head traveling across the width of the tape from an arbitrary position on the tape, in which the playback head is fully opposed to the positioning pattern, toward one edge of the tape while the tape is being driven longitudinally. The alternating current output from the playback head is of full amplitude when the playback head is fully opposed to the positioning pattern, and gradually decreases in amplitude when the playback head starts overrunning the tape edge. The travel of the playback head across the width of the tape is discontinued when the peak value of the playback head output decreases to a predetermined percentage of that when the playback head is fully opposed to the positioning pattern.

    摘要: A method of writing on a two-reel, belt driven, multitrack tape cartridge wherein tape tension increases with the progress of tape transportation from one reel to another. Forward tracks on the tape are predivided into a first group adjacent the tape centerline and a second group adjacent one tape edge, and reverse tracks are similarly predivided into a first and a second group. Writing on each of the first group of forward tracks is started in a position spaced a less distance from the tape beginning than on each of the second group of forward tracks. Writing on each of the first group of reverse tracks is also started in a position spaced a less distance from the tape end than on each of the second group of reverse tracks. Thus the tape offers a greater storage capacity than if, as is conventional in the art, writing on the first groups of forward and reverse tracks is started in the same longitudinal tape position as on the second groups of forward and reverse tracks.

Moving mechanisms are provided in the positioning head so that the bottom surface of the positioning head is movable and rotatable parallel to the top surface of the table. Each positioning pin of the positioning head is inserted into a respective positioning hole of a motor assembly so as to move the motor assembly with a movement of the positioning head so that the spindle motor of the motor assembly is at an appropriate position relative to the magnetic head of the main body of the magnetic disk apparatus.

    摘要: A disk storage device includes a head part for writing data to a storage disk inserted into the device and for reading data from the disk, an eject member which is operated when a disk cartridge containing the disk is ejected, a turntable for rotating and driving the disk thereon to perform data recording and reproducing with the head part, a holder for holding the disk cartridge containing the disk, the holder placing the disk at a read/write position on the turntable when the disk cartridge is inserted, a slider which is disconnected from a latch lever when the disk cartridge is inserted and is moved in a direction parallel to the direction of insertion of the disk cartridge so as to place the disk at the read/write position on the turntable, and a movement mechanism for moving the holder and the disk cartridge from the read/write position of the turntable to an insertion position in response to a movement of the slider in the direction opposite to the first direction when the eject member is operated. In this device, the eject member is mounted flat on an upper portion of a frame of the disk storage device which portion is parallel to a surface of the turntable, the eject member having an operation part which is operated by applying an external force thereto, and a transfer part connected to an end portion of the slider.

    摘要: A storage file for particular use with a flexible magnetic disk having a series of concentric magnetic tracks thereon, comprising a four phase stepping motor for moving a transducer head radially of the magnetic disk. The stepping motor has several sets of first, second, third and fourth phase windings arranged sequentially in the order named. A radial drive control circuit is provided which normally acts to cause energization of the stepping motor windings in a single phase drive mode to cause rotation of the rotor by discrete increments. In order to prevent the rotor from being trapped in alignment with the third phase windings, instead of being returned to the first phase windings, when the disk file is electrically turned on, the radial drive control circuit further functions to briefly energize a selected one or more of the second, third and fourth phase windings of each set, with the simultaneous or subsequent energization of the first phase windings. This makes it possible to positively return the transducer head to the outermost track zero position on the magnetic disk, for the commencement of proper data transfer therebetween, despite the unavoidable sensing errors of an optical "track zero" sensor commonly built into the device.

    摘要: The present invention provides a fiber or fiber product comprising an artificial fiber and filler incorporated therein, the filler being a filler whose own color changes or a filler mixture whose entire color appears to change by irradiation with a laser beam. The filler whose own color changes by irradiation with a laser beam is preferably barium sulfate or diantimony. The filler is usually in the form of particles with a mean particle diameter of not more than about 15 μm. When the fiber or fiber product of the invention is irradiated with a laser beam, the fiber changes color in the irradiated portion, so that a minute mark can be produced on the individual spun yarns or filament yarns of the fiber or fiber product.
