    摘要: This invention relates to an improved polyester composition that has a wide temperature range of crystallization. The composition comprises a polyester and a chemically reacting crystallization modifier having the following formula:H.sub.2 N--R.sup.1 --O--(R.sup.2 --O).sub.x --R.sup.3 --NH.sub.2whereinR.sup.1 and R.sup.3 are independently selected from the group consisting of alkylene units having from about 2 to about 6 carbon atoms;R.sup.2 is a hydrocarbon radical of 2-6 carbon atoms; andx is from 1 to 100.

    摘要: The present invention is an improved polyamide copolymer having monomer units including repeat units of the formula ##STR1## where n is from 10 to 14 and preferably is 12 (1,12-dodecanediamine), units derived from a symmetrical diacid or derivatives of said diacid, preferably a symmetrical aromatic dicarboxylic acid. The copolymer has minor amounts, preferably 3 to 30 and more preferably 5 to 10 mol percent, of units derived from an additional comonomer.

    摘要: A process of preparing homopolymers and copolymers of dodecane terephthalamide having a high melting temperature and dimensional stability, comprising the steps of forming an aqueous suspension of a prepolymer comprising substantially equimolar diacid/diamine admixture of 1,12-dodecanediamine, terephthalic acid, and optionally at least one additonal comonomer in a reactor at a reaction temperature below the melting temperature of the resulting polyamide polymer; drying the prepolymer; and polycondensating the dried prepolymer in an extruder, particularly a vented single screw extruder, to form the polyamide polymer.

    摘要: There is provided in accordance with the present invention polyphenylene ether/polyalkyleneterephthalamide compositions of high dimensional stabilities that are suitable for high temeprature applications comprising from about 20 to about 70 weight % of a functionalized polyphenylene ether; from about 20 to about 70 weight % of a polyalkyleneterephthalamide, wherein the polyalkyleneterephthalamide is derived from terephthalic acid and an .alpha.,.omega.-alkanediamine having 10 to 14 methylene groups; and from about 0 to about 20 weight % of a functionalized elastomeric polymer, wherein the blend absorbs less than 2 wt % of moisture and has a dimensional growth in water of less than 0.5%.

    摘要: Thermoplastic polymeric composition which feature good physical properties which are relatively insensitive to humidity and further exhibits good barrier properties of the composition comprise:(A) a first conventional polyamide, and(B) an amorphous copolyamide which is polymerized from(B.sub.1) a polyamide forming monomer selected from the group consisting of lactams, aminoalkanoic acids and mixture thereof wherein the monomer is present in a molar proportion of between about 0 and 50%,(B.sub.2) a diamine selected from the group consisting of aralkylene diamines, cycloalkylene diamines and mixtures thereof, the diamine being present in a molar proportion of between about 25 and 60%,(B.sub.3) a dicarboxylic acid selected from the group of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, aralkylene dicarboxylic acids, and aliphatic dicarboxylic acids; preferably the use of an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid in conjunction with an aromatic dicarboxylic acid is preferred, at least one aromatic diacid, the dicarboxylic acid being present in a molar proportion of between about 25 and 60%,wherein the (A) and (B) are substantially miscible when formed into a blend composition.The blend composition finds use as a molding composition, as well as a film forming composition, alternately, may be formed into a variety of articles which exhibit improved physical properties.
