摘要: Aluminum or aluminum alloy is first anodized to form an oxide film thereon. With the pores in this oxide film unsealed, the basis metal is then electrolyzed by use of alternating current at a preselected starting voltage, and this voltage is lowered at least once before completion of the electrolytic coloring of the basis metal. The electrolytic solution in which the electrolysis is effected contains either at least three metallic salts or at least two metallic salts and a strong reducing compound.

摘要: The corrosion resistance of an anodically oxidized surface film on aluminum articles is improved by sealing micropores and the like in such surface film with an aqueous sealing solution or dispersion containing siliceous material, such as silicic acid or a silicate, therein and thereafter overcoating the so-sealed surface with a select coating composition. The aqueous sealing solution is brought into contact with the aluminum article, such as by dipping the article into the solution and drying the so-coated article. Optionally, an electrical voltage may be applied through the sealing liquid and through the aluminum article during the sealing process. Further, in certain embodiments an electrical voltage may be applied through the sealing liquid before the liquid contacts the aluminum article. If desired, the surface of the aluminum article may be colored prior to sealing.

摘要: A method for working terminal parts of materials subjected to vertical suspension type surface treatment thereby forming in the terminal parts such hook engaging parts as to be engaged with nipping devices of a carrier bar serving to convey the materials successively to a series of surface-treating baths is disclosed. This method is characterized in that the formation of the hook engaging part in the terminal part of the material is carried out at the same time that or after the step of cutting an extruded material into a fixed length is performed. The hook engaging part may be a groove, notch or hole formed in the terminal part of the fixed-length material and may be formed by a cutting or pressing work. In another embodiment, a protuberant hook engaging part is formed by welding on the surface of the terminal part of the fixed-length material while the material is in transit to a inspection table.

摘要: A method for forming on materials subjected to vertical suspension type surface treatment such hook engaging parts as to be engaged with nipping devices of a carrier bar serving to convey the materials successively to a series of surface-treating baths is disclosed. This method is characterized in that the formation of a protuberant hook engaging part is effected by welding on the surface of the terminal part of the material under treatment while the material is in transit to a framing station. The welding can be carried out by keeping the material under treatment moved on a conveyor or keeping a welding machine moved along the conveyor. The formation of a protuberant hook engaging part can be accomplished by keeping a conductor wire supplied to the site of welding and continuously welding the wire to the lower surface of the terminal part of each of the plurality of materials under treatment thereby forming a hook engaging part made of conductor wire on each of the materials or by welding bead of the shape of a dot or line on the lower surface and/or the upper surface of the terminal part of the material under treatment to form a hook engaging part made of the ridged bead.
