摘要: A muffler with a housing for receiving exhaust gasses from an engine is disclosed. The muffler includes a housing with an inlet and an exit, a baffle plate partitioning the housing into first and second chambers. The baffle plate includes a catalyst receptacle in the first chamber, the second chamber includes the exit of the housing. A catalytic converter element with a longitudinal axis is housed within the catalyst receptacle, the catalytic converter element is positioned within the catalyst receptacle such that exhaust gas passes through the catalytic converter element in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the catalytic converter element and through the second chamber to exit the housing.

摘要: A lubricating system for a two-stroke engine is provided in which oil is more reliably pumped into the two-stroke engine. The oil travels through passages that are integrally cast into the cylinder and/or crankcase. The oil may be injected directly into the crankcase chamber or intake passage. The oil pump may be a rotary pump mounted on the crankcase concentric to the crankshaft. It is also possible to not use an oil pump, and have the oil drawn into the engine by vacuum created in the crankcase.

摘要: A two-stroke internal combustion engine includes at least one gaseous communication charge passage between a crankcase chamber and a combustion chamber of the engine and a piston to open and close the top end of the transfer passage. The air inlet port to the transfer passage for stratified scavenging is opened and closed by the piston that has passages and cutouts. The charge inlet to the crankcase chamber is opened and closed by the piston. The air and charge inlet passages are substantially asymmetrical to the layout of the transfer passages and are closer to one transfer passage compared to the other. The internal air passage in the piston is substantially perpendicular to the piston pin.

A first one of the sections has an aperture at the piston chamber with a top surface located closer to a top of the piston chamber than a top surface of an aperture of a second one of the sections at the piston chamber. The first section has a cross-sectional area which is smaller than a cross-sectional area of the second section. The aperture into the first section is located further away from the transfer ports than the aperture into the second section.
