Abstract:
This invention provides curable fluoroelastomer compositions comprising: (a) a fluorine-containing polymer or blend of fluorine-containing polymers each comprising interpolymerized units derived from one or more fluorine-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomers; (b) at least one organo-onium compound such as those selected from the group consisting of ammonium, arsonium, phosphonium, stibonium, amino-phosphonium, phosphorane (e.g. triarylphosphorane), iminium, and sulfonium compounds; and (c) one or more aryl, allyl or alkyl carbonate-blocked compound as a crosslinking agents. Methods of curing fluoroelastomer compositions, and articles made therefrom are also described.
Abstract:
Fluorocarbon elastomer gum is compounded with fluorinated ether compositions, the resulting compounded gum is shaped and heated to form a cured shaped article such as automotive fuel line hose or O-ring.
Abstract:
In one aspect, the invention provides curable fluoropolymer compositions comprising fluoropolymer, onium, and alkyl or aryl oxalate-blocked compound and carbonate-blocked compound as crosslinking agents. In other aspects, the invention provides methods of making curable fluoropolymer compositions and provides alkyl or aryl oxalate-blocked and carbonate-blocked compounds.
Abstract:
This invention provides a curable fluoroelastomer composition comprising: (A) a fluorine-containing polymer or a blend of fluorine-containing polymers each comprising interpolymerized units derived from one or more fluorine-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomers; (B) an aromatic polyhydroxy crosslinking agent; (C) at least one organo-onium compound; and (D) a monohydroxyfunctional phenol. The compositions provide for a method of improving scorch safety of curable fluoroelastomer compositions.

Abstract:
The present application is directed to a method of making an article. The method comprises coating a composition to a surface of a substrate. The coating composition comprises an aqueous continuous liquid phase, a silica nano-particle dispersed in the aqueous continuous liquid phase, and a polymer latex dispersion. The coated substrate is then heated to at least 300° C.
Abstract:
The invention features a coating composition that comprises a non-urethane acrylate or methacrylate compound in combination with a fluorochemical. Typically, the non-urethane (meth)acrylate is an aliphatic or aromatic (meth)acrylate compound and the fluorochemical typically comprises a monofunctional (per)fluoropolyether (meth)acrylate compound. The coating compositions can provide a protective topcoat layer to a variety of substrates, including wood and vinyl.
