    摘要: A transceiver module for optical communication includes a light-emitting element, a light-receiving element and a rod lens. Light from the light-emitting element is condensed onto the top end of the rod lens. A ferrule of an optical fiber is brought into physical contact with the top end surface of the rod lens so as to couple the light-emitting element and the light-receiving element with the optical fiber. The rod lens is held by a support supported by a spring member on a housing, and the outer diameter of the rod lens is formed so as to be substantially equal to the outer diameter of the ferrule. An opening portion is provided in the housing so that the top end of the ferrule of the optical fiber is slidably fitted into one end of a sleeve, the other end of which is slidably fitted onto the outer circumference of the rod lens. Also, a transceiver module includes a light-emitting element for emitting transmission signal light, a coupling lens for connecting the transmission signal light emitted from the light-emitting element to a light transmission path, and a light-receiving element for receiving detection signal light from the light transmission path, in which the transmission signal light emitted from the light-emitting element is reflected on a surface of the light-receiving element and connected to the light transmission path through the coupling lens; and the detection signal light from the light transmission path is received by the light-receiving element.

An electrode of the laser chip and an electrode of the light receiving element are electrically connected to second leads (3, 4) by wires such as metallic wires, not shown, respectively. A resin frame (6) is provided to cover sides and a rear surface side of the sub-mount except for an emission surface side of the laser chip and to integrally hold one end portion sides of the first and second leads. An antireflection unit (9) for preventing light from being reflected on the light receiving element is formed on a portion of the resin frame opposite to the rear end face of the laser chip. As a result, it is possible to obtain a mold type semiconductor laser capable of constantly detect accurate laser chip output and capable of forming an accurate optical output control circuit.

    摘要: An optical branching and coupling device is provided in which the loss of light in receiving and in transmission is substantially reduced while at the same time the wavelength-branching characteristic is remarkably improved. The optical branching and coupling device connected to a first optical fiber for inputting a first ray of light and a second ray of light of which respective wavelengths are different from each other and for outputting the first ray and to a second optical fiber for outputting the second ray, and having therein a light-emitting element for emitting the first ray and a light-receiving element for receiving the first ray, the optical branching and coupling device including a first filter for receiving the two rays input from the first optical fiber and a ray of light emitted from the light-emitting element, and a second filter for receiving the rays from the first filter and sending them to the second optical fiber and to the light-receiving element, wherein the first filter is formed, on its front side, with a first filter film adapted to substantially transmit the first ray and to substantially reflect the second ray and, on its back side, with a mirror film adapted to transmit a portion of each of the rays and to reflect the rest thereof; and wherein the second filter is formed, on its front side, with a second filter film adapted to substantially transmit the first ray and to substantially reflect the second ray and, on its back side, with an antireflective film adapted to substantially transmit the first ray.

    摘要: A semiconductor laser is inserted into a first hole of a fixing member. An optical system including a cylindrical lens barrel and a lens attached inside the lens barrel is inserted into a second hole in order to direct a light beam emitted from the semiconductor laser to a predetermined position. The first and second holes are formed to be opposite to each other and are arranged on the same axis. The semiconductor laser and the optical system inserted into the first and second holes, respectively, so as to be partly exposed are fixed by laser welding at entrances of the first and second holes. The fixing member is provided with a third hole vertically penetrating the second hole. An adhesive is filled into the third hole. Further, an adhesive is applied onto laser welding points at the entrance of the first hole.

    摘要: In an optical pick-up arranged to detect information recorded on an optical disk by causing laser light projected onto and reflected from a signal surface of the optical disk disposed within an optical system, to be received by a light receiving element provided in the optical system, a method of mounting onto the optical pick-up is provided with a laser diode unit which includes a metallic substrate, a laser diode, a photo-diode, a current feeding lead portion to the laser diode and a current output lead portion from the photo-diode, respectively disposed at one side face in the direction of thickness of the metallic substrate for emitting the laser light. The laser diode unit is positioned and fixed at a predetermined position of the optical system through a mounting member. The mounting method of the laser diode unit includes the steps of setting the other side face in the direction of thickness of the substrate and the mounting member in a desired positional relation for contact with each other. As a result, a plurality of contact places therebetween may be simultaneously welded by laser light for combining the laser diode unit and the optical pick-up into one unit.
