    摘要: Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device wherein display performance of a two-dimensional image and that of a three-dimensional image are both improved. The liquid crystal display device is provided with: a liquid crystal display panel, which displays the two-dimensional image and the three-dimensional image by selectively switching the images; and a backlight, which supplies light to the liquid crystal display panel. The backlight includes an illuminating region, which is scan-lighted corresponding to scanning of the liquid crystal display panel, and the scanning frequencies of the illuminating region at the time of displaying the two-dimensional image and the three-dimensional image on the liquid crystal display panel are different from each other.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device for carrying out a 3D display by a frame sequential method as well as a 2D display includes: a digital γ correction section (21) for changing an input gray level to a gamma characteristic corresponding to either the 2D display or the 3D display in accordance with a preset analog gamma value; an overdrive circuit (23) for finding, in accordance with a parameter set according to the gamma characteristic thus corrected by the digital γ correction section (21), an overdrive value corresponding to the input gray level; and an analog γ correction section (22) for finding a voltage value to be applied to liquid crystal by correcting the overdrive value found by the overdrive circuit (23). In the digital γ correction section (21), an analog gamma value for the 3D display is set to be larger than an analog gamma value for the 2D display. This makes it possible to display a high-quality display with no crosstalk when carrying out a 3D display by a frame sequential method.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device of the present invention includes: a liquid crystal panel (1) capable of switching between a 2D display and a 3D display; a digital γ correction section (21) for changing a gamma characteristic of a video signal supplied to the liquid crystal panel (1); a backlight (2) for backlighting the liquid crystal panel (1), which backlight includes an LED serving as a light source; and a backlight driving section (13) for controlling driving of the backlight (2). When the 3D display is carried out on the liquid crystal panel (1), the backlight drive control section (13) controls the driving of the backlight such that luminance of the LED is higher than that for the 2D display, and the digital γ correction section (21) changes a gamma characteristic of a video signal such that (i) luminance on a low gray level side is lower than that for the 2D display and (ii) luminance on a high gray level side is higher than that for the 2D display. This makes it possible to increase luminance perceived by a user without increasing the number of LEDs.

    摘要: The image reading device of the present invention includes (i) a sensor substrate which functions as a photoelectric transfer element having a photodetecting TFT and a pixel capacitor and (ii) a driving IC for applying a voltage to a gate electrode of the photodetecting TFT so as to drive the photodetecting TFT into an ON state or an OFF state. The driving IC applies a voltage, whose polarity is opposite to average polarity of a voltage making the photodetecting TFT in the OFF state, to the gate electrode of the photodetecting TFT in an arbitrary period. Thus, it is possible to provide the image reading device which can suppress variation of a photodetecting TFT property (resistance value) which is observed in a short time.
