摘要： A light amount detector includes the following elements. An irradiation unit irradiates an image carrier with detection light. A light receiver receives reflected light obtained as a result of being reflected by the image carrier. A housing stores therein the irradiation unit and the light receiver and includes an opposing surface which opposes the image carrier. A window section includes a detection surface through which the detection light is emitted and the reflected light is received. The window section is supported by the housing and is disposed such that the detection surface is positioned farther inward than the opposing surface of the housing. The window section transmits the detection light and the reflected light.

摘要： A power-supply control device includes a power-supply-state transition control section, body-capable-of-movement detection sections, and an instruction section. The power-supply-state transition control section shifts a state of an operation target section from one state to another state among power-supply states and a non-power-supply state. The body-capable-of-movement detection sections detect a body capable of movement in a region. The instruction section provides, on the basis of results of detection of the body capable of movement by the body-capable-of-movement detection sections, at least an instruction for shifting between one of the power-supply states and the non-power-supply state, among instructions for shifting the state of the operation target section from one state to another state with the power-supply-state transition control section.

摘要： A power-supply monitoring device includes a power-supply control section, a detection section, a determination section, a control section, and an attachment section. The power-supply control section receives supply of power from a mains power source section, and selectively sets a power supply mode and a power saving mode. The detection section detects, in a predetermined region, a body capable of movement including a user who intends to use a processing section. When the body capable of movement is detected, the determination section determines whether switching from the power saving mode to the power supply mode is to be performed to obtain a result. The control section controls the power-supply control section on the basis of the result. The attachment section is attached to the detection section so that a detection region including a position or having an area for identifying the user is adjustable.

A light emitting unit emits light to an area of an image forming apparatus where first detection images of plural colors used for detecting amounts of their misregistration are formed. A first light restricting member/configuration restricts light emitted from the light emitting unit. A light receiver is disposed in an optical path of regular reflection light, and receives reflected light and outputs a signal representing an amount of received light. A second light restricting member/configuration is disposed in the optical path of the regular reflection light and restricts light to be received by the light receiver. The value obtained by dividing a diameter of the first light restricting member/configuration by that of the second light restricting member/configuration ranges from substantially 0.5 to 1.9, and the diameters of the first and second light restricting members/configurations are each 1.5 mm or smaller.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes the following elements. An image forming unit forms an image by using plural predetermined colors. An index forming unit causes the image forming unit to form three or more consecutive image correcting indexes of one type by using an identical color, the image correcting indexes being used for correcting misregistration of an image to be formed. The image correcting indexes are sequentially transferred to an image carrier. A detector includes a light source emitting light to the image correcting indexes and a light receiver receiving light reflected by the image carrier and the image correcting indexes to generate a detection signal. A position specifying unit specifies a position of an image correcting index located at the center of three consecutive image correcting indexes by using the detection signal. A misregistration correcting unit corrects misregistration of an image to be formed by using the specified position.
