摘要： A method for enhancing angiogenesis and/or blood vascular perfusion in mammals by administering a pharmacologically effective amount of specific angiogenically active non-ionic, anionic, cationic and zwitterionic amphiphilic compounds. An angiogenically effective amount of the angiogenically active compound digitonin is in the range of at least 1.25 microgram to at least 200 microgram of digitonin. The range including enhancement of vascular perfusion is up to 50 mg of digitonin.

摘要： Compositions which contain lipid containing molecules possessing angiogenic activity are disclosed. The lipid containing molecules have been found in mammalian tissue, particularly the omentum, of various animals. Additionally, known lipids, such as gangliosides, are unexpectedly found to possess angiogenic activity. A method for obtaining the omentum-derived lipids, and for use of these and known lipids, are disclosed as well.

摘要： Lipid containing molecules and compositions, including gangliosides and omental tissue extracts had previously been found to be effective in increasing angiogenesis. It has now been found that these same materials cause increased localized perfusion in mammals. A method for providing increased perfusion, using these compositions, is presented herein.

摘要： Apparatus and method are set forth for calculating a comparative speed rating for an entrant in a race such as a horserace so that the entrants performance can be compared with the performance of other entrants. The speed rating is determined in accordance with a formula which is based on a linear relationship between speed and distance over a particular distance for a particular class of entrant and where the speed rating for an entrant other than the winner is determined over the actual distance covered by the non-winning entrant in the same time as the winner.
