An embodiment comprises reading, by a guest wireless device, data from a machine readable medium, including accessing information, to enable the guest device to obtain credentials from an access rights server, to access an access point or network, based on the accessing information; transmitting by the guest device, a wireless message to the access rights server, requesting credentials to enable accessing the access point or network, the request including the accessing information addressing a storage partition in a database associated with the access rights server, the storage partition being accessible with the accessing information; and receiving by the guest device from the access rights server, the credentials to enable the guest device to gain access to the access point or network by using the credentials.

The method may further comprise determining fingerprint data relating to available access points; comparing the fingerprint data to known fingerprint data of a fingerprint database; updating the fingerprint database in response to the comparison revealing new fingerprint data; and storing history data of series of fingerprint data reflecting earlier movement of a user to a history database.     摘要: A system for managing the simultaneous operation of a plurality of radio modems in a single wireless communication device (WCD). The multiradio control may be integrated into the WCD as a subsystem responsible for scheduling wireless communications by temporarily enabling or disabling the plurality of radio modems within the device. The multiradio control system may comprise a multiradio controller (MRC) and a plurality dedicated radio interfaces. The radio interfaces are dedicated to quickly conveying delay sensitive information to and from the radio modems. The modems may further include control features that take information from the MRC as an input in determining the priority of messages to be sent out to a receiving device. Uplink and/or downlink operations might, for instance, be performed. Instruction that operation can commence prior to an assigned time period might, for example, be provided. Channel contention might, for instance, be initiated in response to the instruction.

    摘要: A HARQ data reception scheme for a multiradio communication device is disclosed. The communication device operates multiple radio connections and monitors interference level caused to a target radio connection by at least one other radio connection operated in the communication device. A data packet and at least one retransmission data packet are received with the target radio connection. The utilization of the received data packet and the at least one received retransmission data packet in a hybrid automatic repeat request data reception is determined according to the interference level at the time instant associated with the reception of the corresponding data packet. Under high interference, the received data packet may be discarded, and detected and decoded data packets may be weighted for the HARQ combining according to the interference levels associated with the data packets.

    摘要: Signal instances are detected from within a long period of a received radiofrequency RF signal envelope, grouped according to signal level, and periodicities are determined among the grouped signal instances. Periodicity of one of the groups is matched to a known periodicity, and a frequency domain is estimated at a time instance derived from the matched periodicity. If an expected frequency pattern is found that occupies the derived time instance in the estimated frequency domain, then a receiver is synchronized to a candidate signal that lies within the frequency pattern. Then content of the candidate signal is decoded and that content is used to access a cognitive radio system (e.g., register to the system, start the normal operation in the network such as spectrum detection and/or transmission in a traffic channel, etc.).
