摘要: It is made possible to maintain the security of one electronic device to which a plurality of other electronic devices are capable of being connected. To accomplish this, a notebook-type personal computer has an internal ROM storing ID information specific to this personal computer. The notebook-type personal computer is folded up and inserted into a docking station through an insertion port so as to be electrically connected to the docking station and rendered capable of executing processing that utilizes the resources of the docking station. The docking station has an internal non-volatile memory storing the IDs of notebook-type personal computers that are allowed to use the docking station. When a notebook-type personal computer is inserted into and connected with the docking station, use of the docking station is not allowed if the ID of this notebook-type personal computer has not been stored in the docking station.

摘要: An operating system is constructed, and optimized in a given environment, for use in an image processing system that includes a first electronic device capable of operating independently and having a standard input/output unit, and a second electronic device which, when the first electronic device has been connected thereto, extends the functionality of the first electronic device and is capable of being used instead of the standard input/output unit to perform operations. To accomplish this, a foldable notebook-type personal computer is folded up and inserted into a docking station through an insertion port so as to be electrically connected to the docking station. The notebook-type personal computer has a CPU for sensing the resources of the personal computer and the resources of the docking station and starting up the operating system upon selecting the optimum resources sensed.

摘要: An antenna includes a simple structure and a small null angle, which achieves communication using a circularly-polarized wave. The antenna includes a conductive wire arranged in loops in such a way as to form a cross shape. A part at which two line portions projecting outward from the center portion define a right angle is included in the loop path of the conductive wire. This part allows the antenna to transmit and receive an electromagnetic wave in all directions and have a circular polarization characteristic.

摘要: A color image forming apparatus irradiates a photosensitive drum with exposure light beams to form a plurality of latent images, develops the latent images into visible images, overlies the visible image to form a color image, and transfers the color image to recording paper. In this apparatus, a light reflection surface is formed on the photosensitive drum. Reflected light beams of laser beams from this light reflection surface are detected by a photodetector. The relative positions of the plurality of latent images formed by the laser beams are corrected in accordance with the detection signal from the photodetector. The image registration error of the color image can be accurately corrected without wasting toner or requiring an accurate toner mark detector, and a high-quality color image can be formed at a high speed with a simple arrangement.

摘要: According to one embodiment, an inkjet recording apparatus includes a conveying unit, an inkjet recording head, and a vibratory unit. The conveying unit is configured to convey a recording medium along a conveying path. The recording medium includes first and second surfaces which are opposed to each other. The inkjet recording head is arranged on the conveying path and is configured to eject an ink toward the first surface to apply the ink to the recording medium. The vibratory unit is configured to apply an ultrasonic vibration to the recording medium. The vibratory unit is arranged on the conveying path downstream of the inkjet recording head and includes an end part configured to make substantially line contact with the second surface along a width direction of the recording medium. The width direction is substantially perpendicular to a conveying direction in which the recording medium is conveyed.

摘要: A high-frequency power amplifier capable of considerably improving the power amplification efficiency (&eegr;). This high-frequency power amplifier 10 comprises an amplifying element 11, an input-side matching circuit 12, and an output-side matching circuit 13, and further has a current absorbing unit 20. This current absorbing unit 20 absorbs the current of a higher-harmonic frequency current contained in a signal of a fundamental wave at which the amplifying element 11 operates. Preferably, this current absorbing unit 20 is comprised of an LC-series resonance circuit 21 having a higher-harmonic frequency as a resonance frequency, and thereby bypasses the above current to the earth.
