    摘要: An air bag has an air bag main body and a sheet. The air bag main body is formed into such a sac like shape as having a circumferential wall portion that extends in a sleeve-like form from a peripheral edge of an opening and a bottom wall portion that closes the circumferential wall portion. The sheet is arranged so as to extend from the peripheral edge of the opening to the bottom wall portion via the circumferential wall portion in such a manner that the air bag main body is split into two parts, and the sheet has a communicating hole. The sheet in sewn only to a portion of the peripheral edge of the opening in the circumferential wall portion and to a portion of the bottom wall portion.

    摘要: A passenger airbag apparatus includes an airbag, an inflator, a case and a retainer. The case includes on a bottom wall a set-in opening through which the inflator is set in, a housing region that holds and houses the inflator, a mounting seat on which the airbag is mounted, lateral movement stopping sections that prevent the inflator from moving in an axial direction, and a rotation stopping section that prevents the inflator from rotating in a circumferential direction. The inflator includes a cut-out region engageable with the rotation stopping section. The retainer is secured to the mounting seats of the case with bolts while pressing a hem of an opening of the airbag against an upper circumferential plane of the inflator and the mounting seats, thus mounting the airbag and inflator on the case.

    摘要: An airbag for a front passenger's seat internally includes a communication port defined by an inner joint that joins inner circumferential edges of a pair of inner panels. The airbag includes at a rear side a recess and a pair of raised regions. The airbag further includes a contact portion where outer surfaces of the inner panels are in face-to-face contact proximate the circumference of the communication port at full inflation. The contact portion is created and maintained by an inner pressure of the airbag at full inflation that acts on the panels of the airbag, and is not formed if the inner pressure is less than that at full inflation of the airbag.

Each of the left and right outer panels includes at the upper periphery a central extended region that includes a joint edge for joint with the crossing edge of each of the inner panels. The exhaust opening is comprised of part of a lap portion of the airbag where a terminal of a front section of the circumferential wall and a terminal of a rear section of the circumferential wall overlap in such a manner that the front section is located inside of the rear section. The front section includes a band portion that extends toward the projecting point of the airbag at full inflation and is coupled to the rear section. The band portion is folded away from the terminal of the front section in a folded-up configuration of the airbag.

    摘要: An airbag apparatus for a front passenger's seat is disclosed. The apparatus includes a wrapping member that wraps up an airbag in a folded-up configuration. The wrapping member includes a joint portion that is secured to an airbag housing or its vicinity together with the airbag, a main body that extends forward from the joint portion and a cover portion that extends rearward from the joint portion for deployment between the airbag and an out-of-position object in an initial phase of airbag deployment. During a folding process of the airbag, the cover portion is wrapped around a front-rear contracted bag, and a leading end of the cover portion is tucked down between an upper folded portion and a lower folded portion of the front-rear contracted bag.
