    摘要: A fixing device includes a transport member that transports a recording medium in a first direction, the recording medium having on one side thereof an image formed of an image forming material that is to be fixed by absorbing light; a first chip that has a first light-emitting area in which a plurality of light-emitting elements that emit light toward the one side of the recording medium are arranged two-dimensionally; and a second chip that has a second light-emitting area in which a plurality of light-emitting elements that emit light toward the one side of the recording medium are arranged two-dimensionally. A gap between the first light-emitting area and the second light-emitting area extends at an angle with respect to the first direction, and a portion of the first light-emitting area and a portion of the second light-emitting area overlap each other in the first direction.

    摘要: A semi-molten or semi-solid molding method is used to cast a scroll member having a tabular panel, a spiral section, and a columnar part. The method includes filling a cavity formed inside of the molding die with semi-molten or semi-solid metal from a section for forming the columnar part via a runner that forms a channel. The cavity forms a space for casting the scroll member. An angle of intersection θ1 between the runner and the section for forming the columnar part is set such that to 97°≦θ1≦135°, and/or a ratio R/√S is set such that 0.12≦R/√S≦0.96. R is a radius of curvature of a chamfered section in which the runner intersects the section for forming the columnar part, and √S is the square root of a cross-sectional area S of the section for forming the columnar part.

    摘要: A VCSEL includes a first conductivity-type first semiconductor mirror layer on a substrate, an active region thereon, a second conductivity-type second semiconductor mirror layer thereon, and a current confining layer in proximity to the active region. A mesa structure is formed such that at least a side surface of the current confining layer is exposed. The current confining layer includes a first semiconductor layer having an Al-composition and a second semiconductor layer having an Al-composition and being formed nearer to the active region than the first semiconductor layer does. Al concentration of the first semiconductor layer is higher than that of the second semiconductor layer. When oscillation wavelength of laser light is λ, optical thickness being sum of the thickness of the first and second semiconductor layers is λ/4. The first and second semiconductor layers are selectively oxidized from the side surface of the mesa structure.

    摘要: The invention provides a manual operation button having a large operable area. A manual operation button is composed of a manual operation plane, a holder for assembling the manual operation plane and a stopper for fixing the holder to a casing. The casing has a mounting hole having substantially the same size and shape as the manual operation plane, so that when the manual operation plane is assembled to the mounting hole, the manual operation plane forms a substantially continuous flat plane with the casing. The holder includes a substantially L-shaped mounting portion for mounting to the casing, a flat plate-like mounting plane for mounting the manual operation plane, and a hinge portion connecting the mounting portion and the mounting plane. The whole width of the hinge portion is disposed within the outer projection plane of the manual operation plane.

    摘要: A VCSEL includes a first distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) of a first conductivity type formed on a substrate and including at least one semiconductor layer to be oxidized, an active region having a column shaped structure and formed on the first DBR, and a second DBR of a second conductivity type. At least one hole starting from a surface of the first DBR and reaching the at least one semiconductor layer to be oxidized is formed in the first DBR outside of a column shaped structure of the second DBR. An oxidized region is formed in the semiconductor layer to be oxidized by selectively oxidizing from a side surface of the hole. In the first DBR, a first current path is formed by a conductive region surrounded by the oxidized region, and a second current path is formed by a conductive region not surrounded by the oxidized region.

    摘要: The present invention allows illumination light of a light source which leaks out to a light receiving element to be reliably shielded and allows components to be assembled to be unitized into a compact body. A light-shielding cylindrical section 31 and a light-shielding plate 32 interposed between a light-receiving side light guide 10 and a light emitting side light guide 11 are formed on a frame body 29 of a push button 2 as a single piece. Illumination light which leaks out from a light emitting element 6 and the light emitting side light guide 11 to a light receiving element 5 is shielded by the light-shielding cylindrical section 31 and the light-shielding plate 32. Support ribs 35 and a hook 41 for positioning a circuit substrate 7 are formed in the frame body 29, whereby the light guides 10, 11, light-shielding cylindrical section 31 and light-shielding plate 32 are unitized on the frame body 29.
