摘要: A thermally controllable battery pack includes a scalable number of battery modules. Each battery module includes a group of horizontally stacked battery cells. Thin metal plate housing surrounds the modules. A thermal fin is placed between some of the adjacent battery cells, so that each battery cell has contact to at least one thermal fin. The thermal fins extend and fold on top of a side edge of the battery cell with 90° angle, so that bent parts of the thermal fins form a substantially planar vertical outer surface. The thermal fins may similarly locate and be bent along the bottom surface. The battery pack includes a foil heater and a thermal pad. A cooling system may include heat exchangers and coolant pipes. A controller and temperature sensor provide thermal management control of the battery pack. The battery pack is used in on-road and off-road electric vehicles.

摘要: At least one inverter is heated by causing an inverter heat generation control unit to pass a predetermined current through the inverter for a predetermined time, and heating of the at least one inverter causes a high-voltage battery (storage battery) to warm up via a cooling circuit. Accordingly, control for warmup of the high-voltage battery (storage battery) is simply performed by passing the predetermined current through the inverter for a predetermined time. This inverter heat generation control can also be applied to a vehicle not including a step-up converter.

摘要: A thermal storage device for batteries is provided. In some examples, the thermal storage device is provided for a battery pack that includes one or more rechargeable battery cells. In some examples, the lithium ion battery cells are used. The thermal storage device is in thermal contact with the battery cell. The thermal storage device is made of a material that absorbs heat that is given off by battery cells during discharge. In some examples, the thermal storage device is made of a plastic material. The material has a relatively low thermal conductivity but a relatively high specific heat capacity, allowing heat energy to be stored in the thermal storage device. The thermal storage device prevents the battery pack from overheating during use. The thermal storage device defines one or more cell receiving volumes. In some examples, an axially extending relief volume is provided.

摘要: A battery includes an electrode layer, a counter electrode layer, which is a counter electrode for the electrode layer, and a solid electrolyte layer between the electrode layer and the counter electrode layer. The solid electrolyte layer has a first region containing a first solid electrolyte material and a second region containing a second solid electrolyte material. The first region is positioned within a region where the electrode layer and the counter electrode layer face each other. The second region is positioned on an outer peripheral side of the region where the electrode layer and the counter electrode layer face each other, and is in contact with the first region. The first region includes a first projecting portion that projects outward from a region where the electrode layer and the counter electrode layer face each other, and the second region covers the first projecting portion.
