Abstract: A thermal insulation sheet is used that includes a fiber, a silica aerogel contained in the fiber, and a fibrous cavity. A method for manufacturing a thermal insulation sheet is used that includes: an impregnation step of impregnating a silica aerosol in a nonwoven fabric substrate containing a fiber that is insoluble in an acidic solution, and a fiber that is soluble in the acidic solution; a gelling step of gelling the silica aerosol; a hydrophobizing step of hydrophobizing the gel; and a drying step of drying the gel. The fiber that is soluble in the acidic solution is dissolved in the hydrophobizing step.

Abstract: An aerogel structure body includes a composite layer containing fibrous materials and aerogel, the aerogel being held between the fibrous materials, and an aerogel layer having a first surface on at least one surface of the composite layer and formed of the aerogel, in which the aerogel layer having a second surface opposite to the first surface, the second surface including a projection portion projecting from the second surface, and a density of the aerogel in the projection portion is 0.1% to 3.0% higher than a density of the aerogel in the aerogel layer (flat portion) other than the projection portion. Therefore, the aerogel structure body that is excellent in dimensional stability and heat insulating properties and that can be manufactured with high productivity and a method of manufacturing the same are provided.

Abstract: A manufacturing method of a heat insulating sheet of the present disclosure includes a composite generating step of impregnating a nonwoven fiber with a basic sol prepared to generate a composite of a hydrogel-nonwoven fiber, the basic sol being prepared by adding carbonate ester to a water glass composition; and a drying step of drying a liquid contained in the composite at a temperature lower than a critical temperature of the liquid and a pressure lower than a critical pressure of the liquid to remove the liquid from the composite. A heat insulating sheet according to the present disclosure includes an aerogel and a nonwoven fiber, and has a compression rate at 0.30 MPa to 5.0 MPa of 40% or less. In an electronic device of the present disclosure, the heat insulating sheet is disposed between an electronic component and a housing. In a battery unit of the present disclosure, the heat insulating sheet is disposed between batteries. This provides a heat insulating sheet that can be used under a high load and a manufacturing method thereof, and an electronic device and a battery unit including the same.
