摘要: A composition and method are provided for clarifying and deodorizing a standing body of water such as fresh and salt water pools and water of spas, cooling towers, lakes and ponds such as aquaculture ponds. The composition contains by weight about 20.26% of a fermentation supernatant from a Saccharomyces cerevisiae culture, about 0.1% sodium benzoate, about 0.01% imidazolidinyl urea, about 0.15% diazolidinyl urea and about 9% non-ionic surfactant. Preferably, anionic and cationic surfactants and urea are absent from the composition. The composition may also contain about 0.05%, by weight, calcium chloride. The method is carried out by adding a solution of the composition to a body of water to provide in the water by weight about 0.02% to about 0.1% of a fermentation supernatant from a Saccharomyces cerevisiae culture, about 0.00005% to about 0.0001% sodium benzoate, about 0.000002% to about 0.00001% imidazolidinyl urea, about 0.00003% to about 0.00015% diazolidinyl urea, about 0.002% to about 0.009% non-ionic surfactant, and about 0.000005% calcium chloride when present.

摘要: A hybrid laser arc welding assembly including a gas metal arc welding torch and a laser arc welding laser head. The torch and laser head are disposed adjacent one another and aimed at targets of a pair of work pieces spaced from one another such that the melted material produced by the torch overlaps with the melted material produced by the laser head, and therefore, the torch and laser head combine to create a hybrid laser arc weld to join the work pieces. The laser head is adjustable dynamically relative to the work-pieces to optimize the hybrid laser arc weld.

摘要: A cooled spider for grazing-incidence collectors includes an outer ring, an inner ring and spokes that mechanically and fluidly connect the inner and outer rings. Cooling channels in the outer and inner rings and in the spokes define a general cooling-fluid flow path through the spider. The general cooling-fluid flow path has input and output points located substantially 180° apart so that the flow path diverges at the input point into two branch flow paths that flow in opposite directions through the spider, and then converge at the output point. Input and output cooling fluid manifolds are fluidly connected to the outer ring at the input and output points and serve to flow cooling fluid over the cooling-fluid flow path.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a vehicle structure including a laser welded fastener includes positioning a first panel in engagement with a second panel to provide access to the first panel by a laser beam. The first panel is laser welded to the second panel. A fastener including projections axially extending from a first surface of a flange are formed. The projections are engaged with a surface of the first panel to space apart the first surface of the flange from the surface of the first panel. Laser welding is initiated by directing a laser beam toward one of the flange of the fastener and the first panel. Gas is vented from an area between the first surface of the flange and the surface of the first panel. The flange is laser welded to the first panel.

摘要: A spot welding tip for use in a spot welding machine includes a base portion having a longitudinal base axis that passes through a center of the base portion. A tip portion extends from the base portion and provides a contact surface. The tip portion includes a longitudinal tip axis that passes through a center of the tip portion and a center of the contact surface. The spot welding tip includes a transverse axis that is perpendicular to both the base axis and the tip axis. The base axis and the tip axis are parallel to one another and offset from one another by a length. The contact surface is angled with respect to the transverse axis by an angle.

摘要: An aircraft engine mount adapter and method is provided that permits the coupling of an aircraft engine to an aircraft when the pickup points on the engine are incompatible with the location of the mounting pins on the aircraft. The adapter consists of an arcuate shaped member having sufficient lateral curvature so as to be selectively positionable along the length and about the circumference of the engine's casing. Means for locking onto the mounting pins are disposed along the outer surface of the member. The member has a plurality of flanges which are bolted to flanges extending outwards from the engine's casing.

摘要: A variable-area, thrust vectoring, and thrust reversing aircraft propulsion nozzle includes mechanization which is uniquely simple, strong, and lightweight, as well as being able to endure the harsh, high-temperature environment of a jet engine exhaust flow. The nozzle employs a minimal number of actuators, and structure which is isolated from reversing thrust forces so that an overall objective of strength, simplicity, and lightweight is achieved by the invention.
