    摘要： A liquid crystal display comprises (a) a first transparent base; (b) a plurality of first picture electrodes on the first transparent base; (c) a plurality of data lines for supplying electrical signals to the first picture electrodes; (d) a second transparent base, parallel to and spaced apart from the first transparent base; (e) a plurality of second picture electrodes on the second transparent base; (f) a plurality of varistor elements made of a varistor material comprising zinc oxide as a primary metal oxide and cobalt and praseodymium oxides as additive metal oxides, in amounts of between 0.1 and 8.0 atom % cobalt and between 0.08 and 8.0 atom % praseodymium, one varistor element being associated with and in electrical contact each second picture electrode; (g) a plurality of scan lines for supplying electrical signals to the second picture electrodes via the respective associated varistor elements; and (h) electrooptically active liquid crystal material between the first and second picture electrodes. In a preferred embodiment, the plurality of varistor elements is in the form of a varistor array comprising an integral body of varistor material having two major opposing faces, one of the opposing faces having an array of indentations thereon, each indentation defining a varistor element.

    摘要： A cleaning device includes a cartridge assembly, a hose/tubing, a nozzle, and an activator. The cartridge assembly includes at least one cartridge configured to hold a liquid solution. An attachment device is coupled to the cartridge assembly and is configured to secure the position of the cartridge assembly to a user's arm adjacent the hand. A pump is located within the cleaning device and is located between cartridge and the nozzle, such that pump regulates dispensing of the liquid solution. The nozzle is in communication with the pump and acts as a diffuser to adjust the stream of the liquid solution passed through the hose from pump. The activator is in communication with the pump such that operation of the activator selectively releases a volume of the liquid solution from the cartridge so as to pass through the nozzle. A control unit and interface are permitted.

    摘要： The present invention provides novel serum-free cell culture medium and methods for cultivating MDCK cells. In particular, non-tumorigenic MDCK cells. The present invention also provides methods for producing influenza viruses (e.g., particularly cold-adapted, and/or temperature sensitive, and/or attenuated influenza viruses) that eliminate the need for a cell culture medium exchange step. The novel medium and methods are useful to grow influenza viruses, in cell culture to high titer. The present invention further provides purification methods for purifying influenza viruses with high overall recovery of live virus and result in levels of host cell DNA (HCD), host cell protein (HCP) and non-specific endonuclease (e.g., Benzonase), which are below the specifications required by regulatory agencies. The immunogenic compositions can be used to actively immunize subjects or to generate antibodies for a variety of uses, including passive immunization and diagnostic immunoassays.
