摘要: Acoustic output power is adaptively regulated in medical diagnostic ultrasound imaging. Given transmit settings, the acoustic power and/or another setting may be altered to avoid violating a limit set by regulation. The limit is based, at least in part, on an assumed attenuation. By measuring the attenuation, such as by identifying a type of tissue, the power and/or limit may be altered or adapt. By accounting for the attenuation in the region to be scanned, a greater output power may be possible while still providing the same level of safety.

摘要: A method of servicing a wellbore in contact with a subterranean formation, comprising: placing a wellbore servicing fluid comprising a crosslinkable polymer system and a filler into a lost circulation zone within the wellbore. A method of blocking the flow of fluid through a lost circulation zone in a subterranean formation comprising placing a first composition comprising a packing agent into the lost circulation zone, placing a second composition comprising a crosslinkable polymer system and a filler into the lost circulation zone, and allowing the compositions to set into place.

摘要: A system and method for cooling an entirely or partially immersed mechanical or other type of transducer array is disclosed. Motion/flow of the immersion fluid is induced either by motion of the mechanical transducer itself, where the transducer is of the mechanically movable type, or by a separate motion-inducing mechanism located in or coupled with the fluid-filled, or partially filled, array housing. The resultant fluid flow/motion increases, i.e. more efficiently utilizes, the thermal carrying capacity of the immersion fluid by more uniformly distributing the thermal energy convected from the transducer array throughout the fluid volume. This results in an improved ability to cool the transducer array. The disclosed cooling system and method may be used in such a way so as to not substantially inhibit operation of the transducer array.

摘要: Methods of servicing a wellbore in contact with a subterranean formation include passing an ester-based fluid into the wellbore and reducing a temperature of the ester-based fluid by an amount effective to cause the ester-based fluid to set, e.g., by from about 10° F. to about 20° F. The ester-based fluid includes a water in ester-based oil emulsion, a pH controlling additive, e.g., hydrated lime, in the water-phase, and an emulsifier to stabilize the pH controlling additive. Cooling the ester-based fluid causes the emulsion to destabilize, resulting in the release of the pH controlling additive. This release lowers the pH of the ester-based fluid by an effective amount to cause it to set. Wellbore servicing fluids comprising the foregoing ester-based fluid may be employed as environmentally friendly sealants or spotting fluids in wellbores.

摘要: A candle arrangement having a main candle body having a relatively high melting point and the main candle body has an aperture therethrough and a plurality of burning candles having a candle wax with a lower melting point than the main candle body are slidably mounted in the aperture. The burning candle at the top of the main candle body may be burned and then discarded after it is consumed and replaced with a new burning candle.
