摘要:
Various embodiments include optically aligning and connecting optical devices to optical grating couplers using a variety of bonding techniques, as a means of transferring optical signals to and from optoelectronic integrated circuits.
摘要:
An apparatus and method for splitting a received optical signal into its orthogonal polarizations and sending the two polarizations on separate dual integrated waveguides to other systems on chip for further signal processing. The present invention provides an apparatus and method for facilitating the processing of optical signals in planar waveguides received from optical fibers.
摘要:
A polarization splitting grating coupler (PSGC) connects an optical signal from an optical element, such as a fiber, to an optoelectronic integrated circuit. The PSGC separates a received optical signal into two orthogonal polarizations and directs the two polarizations to separate waveguides on an integrated circuit. Each of the two separated polarizations can then be processed, as needed for a particular application, by the integrated circuit. A PSGC can also operate in the reverse direction, and couple two optical signals from an integrated circuit to two respective orthogonal polarizations of one optical output signal sent off chip to an optical fiber.

A device for detecting the fluorescence emitted by chromophore elements contained in the wells of a multiwell plate, the device comprising means integrated in the transparent bottoms of the wells of the plate to limit the penetration length in the wells of a light beam for exciting chromophore elements fixed on the bottoms of the wells.
摘要:
The invention concerns an electroluminescent device comprising first and second substantially parallel mirrors for converting electron-hole pairs into photons, and means for generating electrons and holes. The converting means and the first and second mirrors are designed to ensure the confinement between the first and second mirrors of photons having at least a selected wavelength, associated with a guided propagation mode. Additionally, the device comprises light extracting means which communicate with part at least of the converting means and the generating means, comprised between the first and second mirrors, and are designed to extract therefrom part at least of the photons in guided mode, so that they reach outside.
