摘要: A blood component collection system with manipulation and optimization capabilities. In one embodiment, process parameters are derived from an input/configured predetermined blood component yield and which is based upon the maximization of at least one process parameter. Thereafter, the blood component collection procedure is performed with these derived process control parameters. In another embodiment, process parameters are derived from an input total procedure time from a maximized value for at least one of the other process control parameters so as to maximize blood component yield in this fixed time. Thereafter, the blood component collection procedure is performed with these derived parameters.

摘要: A blood component collection system with data manipulation and optimization capabilities. The system comprises a central database, a data manipulation device, and a communication subsystem connected to the central database and the data manipulation device, and one or more extracorporeal blood processing machines. The central database maintains records of total donation volumes contributed by a donor during selected time periods as communicated by the blood processing machine and as determined by the data manipulation device. The records comprise a total red blood cell donation volume and a total plasma donation volume.

摘要: A centrifuge for separating blood having a camera observing fluid flow, and a controller controlling the flow. The location of an interface is detected by image processing steps, which may comprise the steps of “spoiling” the image, “diffusing” the image, “edge detection”, “edge linking”, “region-based confirmation”, and “interface calculation”. “Spoiling” reduces the number of pixels to be examined preferentially on orthogonal axis oriented with respect to the expected location of the interface or phase boundary. “Diffusing” smoothes out small oscillations in the interface boundary, making the location of the interface more distinct. “Edge detection” computes the rate of change in pixel intensity, or. “Edge linking” connects adjacent maxima. “Region-based confirmation” creates a pseudo image of the regions that qualify as distinct. “Final edge calculation” uses the points where the shade changes in the pseudo image, averages the radial displacement of these points for the interface position.

摘要: The present invention facilitates transactions by providing a limited use PIN that is associated with a primary account and/or PIN number, wherein the limited use PIN is presented to the merchant to initiate a transaction. More particularly, the system involves the process of registering a user (if not already pre-registered) to participate in a transaction system; generating a limited use PIN and issuing this number to the user, where the user presents this number to a merchant to complete a sales transaction; the merchant processing this limited use PIN, where the number is typically presented to the credit issuer to facilitate authorization. Additionally, the limited use PIN may also carry with it certain limitations-on-use conditions, where the transaction is not authorized unless these conditions are met. In generating a limited use PIN, the issuer generates a random number and associates this number with the user's primary charge account.

摘要: Chalk holding devices for bicycles, scooters, skateboards and other wheeled apparatuses are provided. One exemplary embodiment includes a chalk holding device for attachment to a bicycle having a wheel and an axle with a first end and a second end. The chalk holding device has a chalk-receiving member for receiving chalk therein. The chalk holding devices also has first and second arms that extend from the chalk-receiving member towards the axle. The first arm has a first axle cup for receiving a first end of the axle and the second arm has a second axle cup for receiving a second end of the axle.
